Can I send you my consultation fee if it does?

Thinking bout buying one of these. Good with the Archer (apparently), side focus, good ret, no damned infra red lump on the back to interfere with Archers DSA, excellent glass. Does anyone here use it? Only downside I can find is it won't focus below 50yds so first question - I've read a few times about people putting "O" rings behind the Obj lens to improove near focus. Does it work with all scopes and specifically this one? If you unscrew the objective lens won't the gas run out? I'm thinking below 50yds things are going to get blurry but how blurry? Would you still be able to take a 30yd sh

The bullet path is irrelevant Alsone. We are only concerned with whether the target is closer or farther than our zero. I think I've got it worked out in my head. Wherever you point the rifle the dot will point AT the crosshairs. I say AT because if the crosshairs are pointing at a lesser distance than the zero the dot won't actually get to the crosshairs and will show as being above the centerline. If aiming at a point further than zero the dot will be going through the zero point to hit the ground at what seems to be below the centerline. I've got a headache now

Still not convinced that it will work but I'll certainly give it a try. Here's an idea that will work. Can't remember where I posted it or when (not my original idea) but I stuck a laser pen thing on the side of my rangefinder in such a way that the dot was in the center of the rangefinder reticle (at any range) . Was a bit fiddly but I managed it. Don't ask me how it worked but it did. Whatever the distance that dot was in the middle of the reticle. Whilst looking through your night vision (Archer in my case) you held the rangefinder in your hand and aimed it at the target. When the dot is on

As was pointed out on another forum. This can't work cos if dot is fixed on crosshairs it will always be on crosshairs no matter where you point it as long as it's attached to the rifle. I have a rangefinder. They do work in the dark but you can't read them in the dark.

I would probably love this if I knew what "keech" meant. I did laugh at the possibilities though.

I'm only guessing here so don't shoot me. Maybe the foldover tags at the top of the mag could use a tap with a hammer to lower the bullet angle?
-
Don't want to put it on the target. Could be two or three feet sideways from the crosshairs. The idea is to set the dot to your zero, then if i've got a bunny in my crosshairs and the dot is below the bunny I know the bunnie is further away than my zero. If dot is high then bunnie is closer. Not ever going to be spot on but every little helps Got one of those expensive "S" shaped steel mounts that is adjustable every which way so just need something basic that I can see through the Archer at 80/100yds.

I do most of my shooting at night and like most people I struggle with distances. I'm quite liking the idea of a red dot laser set to your zero distance which at least will tell you if the target is nearer or farther than your zero. I know nothing about red dots so can anyone tell me what to look for? Want the smallest unit that will hold zero out to maybe 100yds. Happy Chrimbo everyone! Paul

Choosing Scope For Bunnies On .22 Rifle
toxo replied to Krispy's topic in Shooting Equipment & Accessories
A bit late but another consideration is the angle. Make sure you use the distance from the back door rather than the distance from the window which will be longer. -
I see you're from Kent. When I saw this, I was right on the borders of Surrey and Kent. So it's agreed then. The Beast of Kent. I'm quite a way from the Surrey border. The buggars are breeding!!

I saw something very similar a few weeks ago. The image wasn't brilliant but clear enough to see it was small fox size but the head and gait was Stoatlike. There were a few bushes in front of it but I watched it long enough to be very confused.

Am on Yorkshire at the moment. Have tried all the normal ones. Not tried Earl Grey yet perhaps it's time I started shopping in Waitrose. BGD, There's a thought. I'll investigate. Thanks guys.

Nothing beats drinking tea from a red bush Flacko.
-
A great idea but the tea companies soon cottoned on to putting in the stuff they used to throw away. Now I'm sure they're putting in the sweepings off the floor. I'm pi**ed off with the scum on the top of the tea and around the insides of the cup. Never used to get it. Can anyone recommend a brand that doesn't do the scum thing?

The Winchester subs I buy currently are 40g but I do believe they now have a 42g available but don't think they intend on them replacing the 40g. The Winchester laser ammo I have are silver case but looking online their is a brass case winchester laser available. Don't know if the 42s are superceding the 40s but the mv is quoted as the same 1065 fps

Puzzling. I wish manufacturers would give different names to different variations. I've read lately about 29/32/34/36g variations. The ones I have are 34g and made in Australia. They're the same length as "normal", not long like stingers etc. http://www.unusual-gifts.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/IMG1.JPG http://www.unusual-gifts.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/IMG2.JPG http://www.unusual-gifts.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/IMG3.JPG left to right; Xpediter Xtra High Velocity 34g hp, Eley subs hp, Eley Match rn, CCI 40g subs hp, Aguila Super Extra 38g subs hp, RWS 40g subs hp, Fiocchi 40g subs hp, W

I'm a bit frit about trying them in my Annie 1417 . I read somewhere that ear defenders are advised Then again, I used to get loads of bunnies from about 20yds out but now there's not so many of em and the rest have got wise. Having to reach out past 80yds now. These will certainly flatten the trajectory and the noise won't matter cos there already taking an age to come out after you shoot one. The only advice from Rimfire Central is don't use em on a semi auto.

It's an old box Dan. Don't know if they're current. Says only to be used in modern good condition weapons.

Thanks guys. It looks like izettle is the one for startups with no monthly fees. Some are praising Paypal so i'll have a look at that before I jump.
-
That's interesting. My initial talk with Worldpay works out at £24.50 plus a minimum bill of £15 which is a lot of transactions for a startup. Please send the link. I'm not about to jump into anything and will look at all possibilities. Thanks guys. Paul

Asked elsewhere with no response. Does anyone here use them? Hoping someone can tell me what's best value re; transaction/monthly fees etc.

Many years ago my BIL had what he called a Tikka, it had a 12 bore over and a .222 under or maybe the other way around, can't remember. Thing is I've never heard such a rifle mentioned since. Am I dreaming it up?
