I bought this in a package With an RWS Scimitar which I'm keeping and a Webley pump (currently on fleabay). Except for years ago I've only used PCPs and am only adequate with these so when I had a go with the TX I knew it had to go.As you can see from the pics it's in very good condition and I haven't even cleaned it. The scope is a Simmons 4 x 40 Gold series with fully coated optics and is nice and clear. Comes with a Bisley fleece lined gun slip. Looking for £230 collected from Gillingham, Kent. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/u2bimt6g63qt31b/DvvZAWlWKp

Pressure Switch For Cree Torch?
toxo replied to toxo's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Thanks Dan. Of course you're right. In fact I can vaguely recall reading how to do it on one of those dedicated torch forums some time ago. I was just hoping for a nice easy link. Oh well, off to fleabay then. -
Been using Cree torches for a couple of years now. I have a Deben with red led which takes a 18650 battery and is ok but I would like something with a bit more power due to the eyes going south. I have a couple of bigger Crees that take the 18650 batteries (one zoomable) but the 5/7 modes drive me mad. I know there are lots of pigtails for the slimmer torches but can I get one for the slightly wider bodied torches? And can anyone advise on a torch that just switches on/off please?

Can anyone explain the phenomenon that I call "spooky face" when using the Archer with the Firefly lazer? At first I thought it was the shine from the bunnies eye lighting up the face somehow but I now know this to be wrong because I'm getting it form horses and even bright lights. I was getting it a few nights ago from the pulsing of an electric fence.

Same as that. Have no idea why they're so expensive.

Think my Bushnell is fake. Which new scope?
toxo replied to appletree318is's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
I got caught with one of these too some time ago. Ended up paying around £20 for it from a fleabay seller. Wouldn't have paid that if I'd realised at the time that it wouldn't hold zero. Had I done my research I would have known that Bushnell don't make an illuminated reticle 3-9x56EG. Seems a shame really. All the elements are there cept it won't hold zero. It's a minefield out there and it's not just Bushnell either. I'm willing to bet that we're not the only ones who've spent time trying to zero a dud scope and wondering what we're doing wrong. -
Thanks for that creakin but I'm happy to report that I have made contact and Julian has agreed to change the tube and I've sent it to them along with my Hawke so he can set it up properly for me. It's true, they're very nice people

Well how timely was that! I've just this minute swapped a battery from the kitchen scales to put in the IR. I'll take it out now. Thanks for that Pledgey. I now have my Archer and played with it last night for the first time. I see what you mean about the position of the bayonet fitting. If I was going to keep the Sidewinder, I'd be tempted to grind down the locking ring to bring the spacer back a bit. I don't have the bolt problem yet as it going on my HW100. Anyway, back to the playing. Not as clear as I'd hoped, in fact was a bit fuzzy but maybe I haven't found the right setup yet or ma

Thanks for that easy but someone told me that the Archer wants a 30mm tube rather than the 25mm. Can anyone confirm this? I don't expect great things from the sidewinder but it'll have to do for the time being.

I have a Sidewinder 30 on my HW100 12 fpe at the moment and I'm hoping to acquire a Starlight Archer next week. Has anyone used this setup? Am going for FAC in the near future and will review the scope situation then but will the Hawke do until then?

Hi guys. I shot my first two woodies a few days ago. I love learning and suck up all the help I can get but it gets confusing when no-one mentions airgun or shotgun. I'm using a 12 ftlbs HW100 airgun and I'm assuming that decoy shells are ok if you just want them in the vicinity for a shotgun but full bodied would be better if you need them to land and linger for a while. Is this right? I have the joy of shooting from a small caravan which they're used to. I put down four shells and four full bodied. I put them out at around twenty yards thinking they would land (if they land) on the far sid

Now that i'm shooting rabbits again i'm really missing a decent cleaver. Can anyone recommend something with a decent steel content that isn't an arm and a leg to buy? Thanks. Paul

Me too. The one I bought was too small. That's why I put the body size. I think all the 'fire models are smaller in the body like the Ledray etc. The numbers are confusing. My torches are none of these but I wouldn't trade em.

Has anyone found a remote switch for the 1 inch bodied cree torches?

Hi Guys. I've just aquired a Webley Premier Mk2. When I got it home I shot about 5 pellets and the barrel wouldn't stay locked. I stripped it today cleaned it. Didn't have any grease so put it back together temporarily and it started working again. The problem came back again after about a dozen shots. Won't stay cocked. It's as if the sear is badly worn but it's not that bad. Any ideas anyone? I know the toerances are fairly tight so do you think a new sear and trigger pins will solve it? Also, the barrel is about 6mm longer than the spring chamber. Can anyone tell me what model this is

More than once when talking to people about snares the question comes back, "aren't they illegal?". I've looked but can't find anything on it so I'm asking here. Is there a good article anywhere that lays out the legalities of private/public snaring?
-
The spare was left out when I collected the gun and the tosser who sold me it has posted it three times at least (he says) and I'm still waiting. Anyone have any spares? Thanks
-
My last one was similar. She ran up the light toward me and sat up. The pellet entered just below the eye and I found it in the base of the neck.

Where can I get a gun slip or case that will take rifle, bipod, scope and gunlight? Or where can I get a snap-on gunlight mount for the scope? I can't find one anywhere and it's not like the light has to be rigid. And whilst I'm at it, where can I get a remote switch for my gunlight which is bigger than the Ledray types. The body tube is around an inch. Thanks guys.

Will look at a T or a S. Must be QF. Not made up my mind whether .177 or .22 so will look at either. Using .22 at the moment. Must be face to face. Willing to meet half way up to 40 miles from Gillingham, Kent. Will be a cash deal there and then. No messing. Reasonable price please.Thanks.

Where are you??

Let me know if you need a hand!

Thanks Hunter I'm assuming this is the same book "Total Airguns: The Complete Guide to Hunting with Air Rifles". Amazon are offering it for £17. On the basis that the usual .177 versus .22 or zeroing a scope etc has been done to death and is freely available everywhere on the"net", I think I would rather spend my hard earned on something more dedicated to the yearly cycle, preferably as it applies to airgun hunting. I've got a few DVD's on the hunting and the poaching and they all mention bits about this or that time of year but surely there's something out there that puts the hunting
