  2. dont be so bloody stupid ! Sorry for being abrupt about it but you have to think how you would feel if it was the other way around and your dog was just attacked like that, fair play though if he got the dog to let go. How would you have dealt with the other dog by yourself? dont worry about it mate dogs are animals, you was man enough to say sorry and pay vets bill,go round and see the lady if she dont want charges brought against you the police prob leave it at that.too many do gooders on here ive left my gate open a couple times it can happen especialy when kids are on

  4. agreed on that 100%,as long as young uns are taught about ferreting by an experienced ferreter,as a lost ferret can cause mayhem in a farm.
  5. if your gonna do a sport i agree about not spending thousands but the welfare of the ferrets must come first, leaving a ferret in a set overnight is no prob but losing one is not good.same with lurcher owners not being able to afford proper care for the dogs should it need treatment,im not loaded but i wouldnt keep dogs if i was on my arse .
  6. me also i collar all mine,if you know your ferrets working style you know what thier up to below ground,my large hob runs threw like a greyhound ,if he dont show at any holes i get out the finder normally hes got them up a stop end.but with my smaller jills they take longer and try and shift them rather than kill,i find the locators speed up things or how far your fert travels vdown a hedge, and if doing a set at 3pm and darks drawing in you got the kit to get em out if needed.also if one ferret is located under ground and you dont gat a bolt u know rabbits are bottled up ,so you can enter a bi
  7. smoke em out let terrier sort them
  8. prob just lying up,go back like all said with a collared up fert,or atleast block all holes, and sometimes a box with straw in near a hole and it will sleep in thier.i agree ferreting with out collars is not a good idea.

  21. and how much is that then,? my lot get road work nearly everydaybetween 3-6 miles next to quad or van on tarmac, and I have done this for over 25yrs and NEVER seen pads worn away, when I had the bulls at times they would get a lot more than that mine also gets a bit in front of truck or quad ,not much about 3/4 mile, slow pace then a blast, its not really tarmac as a dog naturally will run on verge.i allways free run walking them first so they nice and warmed up.as for keeping nails down i find cuuting em easier.
  22. you wide boy !! he who dares rodney he who dares my son :toast: concrete prob cost more than what extra youd get,i used to fill up a scrap motor with car seats and leave a hose on em many year back ,never did get much more for them, prob saw me coming. not when is free!! i meant mortar and get it off a bricklaying friend at the end of his shift oh good idea mate, seems loads of fellas doing scrap these days, bet its difficult to get a load .
