  1. Prefer AFs myself You will need tufs if the general public have access, and If your just starting out try and stick to the same manufacturer otherwise you will be walking about with a bunch of keys like a jalior, whatever you need or want try and put it in with your quote (be sensible profesional and competetive).
  2. In my experience would have to say no,lot more set in a border collie beardies will hunt sheep in woods by scent ,you will never loose a beardie noisy b*****ds,I have a beardie x border at the moment would stand and bay at cattle and tups at eight weeks old brave as a lion or stupid. Going back to the perfect lurcher have owned most crosses and seen some cracking dogs what makes up a perfect lurcher is Patience when picking patience when training time put into a dog
  3. The perfect lurcher in my opinion is only to be made from breeding worker to worker dog and bitch that ticks all the boxes. For example when we say collie greyhound ??? where did the collie blood come from what work has it done was it any good,if it was crap and has never herded or stood a good ram or bullock what is the point in using it ,as a bull that has no intelligence or a saluki that wont chase so on and so on. See to many people picking up pups from so called worker to worker and then readvertised due to moving home or changing jobs. If you want the real deal take your time look at
  4. Lightforce striker put your battery in a haversack on your back lot easier and quieter to carry with room to pop your catch in as well
  5. Took Drift out for the second time on the lamp last night, pulled in to the first feild, got her out of the truck, one scan with the lamp no rabbits three foxes, walked into the second field less than fiffty feet from me fox directly behind the fox rabbit, drift was up on her hind legs,as I walked on she run three caught Two.If I had the rifle would have seen rabbits all night .
  6. Bought mine from Arthur Carter at the Welsh this Year, have used it several times made the mistake of turning the gas up to high and putting to much oil in F\\\\\\\\\king smoke you never seen nothing like it,does the job much better than a chain saw no noise whatsoever.havent really come on a bad infestation yet to road test it properly ,only ones and twos, dont know if it will bolt rabbits will give it a try.
  7. My Grandson Theo Five looking trying to locate his first rabbit and Drift his GSD cross waiting patiently for him to bolt
  8. Has anyone used these are they any good
  9. You are doing her a treat you should be proud well done, she looks like the others laid back, you wait till you light the touch paper.
  10. Just come back from her second lamping night hour last night missed a rabbit by inches real close, took her out tonight at 9.15 just got back in with a nice bunny in the bag, after the Game Fair nothing is squatting all Lamp shy, chuffed she took this one.
  11. Skycat call yours clever mine dont even need a drinking bowl she just goes for a bottle
  12. Great to see her again Skycat, she looks goodwill have to wait and see what they are like working but early field time Drift her sister is looking good, currently she will walk alongside me with gun ,sit or lay when I take aim and shoot retrieve for fun,if I dont take the gun she will hunt up cover unless with the terrier who she will let do all the hard work, will take some photos as soon as I get chance
  13. Personally I would use a shock collar as a last resort, try a long rope and good chooker first,Shock collars are like all things good tools when used correctly and to the instructions with them, the collar should be on the dog a good week before you used, one outing wont do it,normally at least three depending on how persistent your dog is,first time you should shock second time use the noise first if that dont work shock again. If the training has work you should be able to walk through a field of sheep without the dog moving when the sheep move.
  14. Cracking show looking forward to seeing good honest dog people again

  16. My Dogs go out at six every morning and a five at night and in between most days they normally always do their business then wash out with a power hose, their beds are wooden boxed with a high surround to stop draughts, never use bedding. Will Jeyes out once a week,my last dog died at fourteen, have a terrier who is thirteen.None of my dogs have never suffered from fleas, tret the box once a month with flea spray.
