  1. As in rough collie lassie type not border collie. how much collie is in it mate ? havent seen or heard of a rough collie cross befor , whats its attributes how does it work and for what tasks ?
  2. looking alot better now , not as hyper as she usually is but deff better , think she will be completely fine by tomoro , she has made a good recovery considering she looked f****d yesterday
  3. took my pup on her first ferreting trip last week ,it was her first proper days work, she did quite well caching 2 boulters as these were her first catches ever, kept her on the slip tho as there were a few terriers there and she was going a little deff with the excitement, got some work to do with her obedience, but after that first boulter she switched right on watching the hedge line vary closely , im hoping she is going to make a god little ferreting dog
  4. she looking better this morning, still looking a little week but much better walking around and eating , im vary relieved this morning

  6. luckilly she was stood , well laying on the ramp with her head stuck firmly down thro the gap , when i got her out she was trying to move and stand but was vary week , it looked like she had been there a while by the state of her , and her furr was all flattened around her neck , i picked her up and put her in the nest box and she lay down straight away . tried to give her some water but she wasnt interested , so i thought best leave her as not to stress her any more , hoping she survives the night , if she does she should have a good chance
  7. cant bellive it , just went out to feed the dogs and ferrets , when ive gone in the shed to check on the ferrets the polecat has got her head stuck between a wooden ramp and the back of the run , i have managed to get her head out but she not looking good , she cant stand and is really week , dont now how long she has been stuck like that as ive been in work 12 hours today , had to put her in the sleeping box as she couldnt get up and in her self . i hope she not going to die going to go check on her first thing in the morning , really worried about her such a simple thing that i hadnt not

  9. to be honest i dont think it makes any difference what you wrap around the bottles to stop them freezing , its the water in the metal bit they drink from that will freeze first and you cant really insulate that , just keep changing the bottles thro the day

Hi , just wondering if anyone uses another box for during transport , as I was thinking of having a larger box than a carry box just for in the van to put the ferrets in while I'm on route , was thinking something a with a bit more space and some mesh instead of just drilled holes , just so the ferrets arnt locked in the little carry box for quite so long If any one does use some thing like that some picks would be good Thanks
  14. so you would agree that a bed whip could suet my needs well , a few litters ive seen about have had a small amount of grey in there and i would like a pup from from a small whippet to keep the size down
  15. understand what you are saying mate about dogs going to ground on fox , some of the places around here are vary sandy rabbit holes can be a bit big, and ive heard many people say they terrier will follow any rabbits to ground , and in my mind a beddi would find this a little more dificult
  16. didnt say cant go to ground , cant squeeze down rabbit holes like a small terrier , russel etc might
  17. hi , i now there was a similar thread done the other day but i would like to here from some ownwers of first x bedlington whippets please. im planning on getting anouther dog next year and am still vary undecided as to what im going to get , i want a dog for working cover and flushing bunnies to my lurcher, and really want a spaniel so that brings me 2, i cant decide if i am going to get a straight terrier or a bedlington whippet , now i dont want the dog going to ground when im out bushing which i now is always a risk with a terrier so would like to now from those that own and work th

  20. the way i look at it is , its happend once so there is every chance it can happen again , maybe i wont be so luck next time , and for the simple thing of not having a collar on the dog its an easy choice for me
