  5. my brothers father in law has a whippet x staff , not a worker 100% pet , so cant say what working ability's it would have , but as for is body shape etc , it is a vary strong and fast bitch and has thrown a vary nice shape and is about 22 tts which makes me think there my be some grey in there , after seeing that bitch i would deff consider a staff x if from proven parents

  8. i think the dog is lmore likely to hurt its self if not properly trained to jump , as at some point it is bound to attempt to jump a fence when it sees other dogs doing it or when frustrated in per-suet of its quarry , and if its had no practice is much more likely to miss judge the jump and catch the wire
  9. Any pics mate , and what they doing in the field ?

  11. I plan to build my new kennels and run from block work, position in on corner of the garden so only one side o the run needs be meshed , and put 2 courses of block under the mesh couple of pillars, last forever
  12. no mate far from it , she is an Airedale terrier , and a pet had her for years
  13. i got one , she is my first lurcher , still young but is showing promise , my reasoning for getting one was simple , new to the game had no connections in the hunting community wanted a collie x and thats what you get , i decided i would take the risk i wont lie tho and bull shit it is vary unlikely i would go for a second , the reasoning for this is not that i have any concerns of the possible working potential of his stock , but that i dont agree with the farming methods used , and now that i am making new friends in the hunting game i dont think i will have any problems in sourcing a pu
  14. hi im looking to get some insurance for the lurcher , dont fancy any stupid vet bills if she does sumit serious just wondering where i can get some decent working dog insurance at a decent price , also do any of you bother having like a public liability insurance or similar ? suppose it would be easier to get permission if you cold produce something like that
  15. Yea I hope so mate , when training her it's norm on her own but have started taking my other dog now (pet) and keeping her on the lead so she will retrieve with other dogs , in theory any way lol, but she will deff be run alone so as not to f**k it up , it just all caught me a little off gard lol , I've been holding off working her a little as the last to she has coaght she didn't retrieve and I wanted to get this sorted before really getting her going , but this has given a little more confidence in her
  16. went out for a quick walk out with the dogs tonight not hunting just stretch their legs , with a friend and his mastiff , it is partially lit where we went near a compound , the dogs were off the leads and my young lurcher went off in front and around a corner , i heard a clatter and a squeak, my first thoughts were that she had hit a fence or somthing then she comes bounding around the corner a good 200 yards away with a bunny in her mouth which was then squeaking like mad lol ive been having problems latly with her retrieve which i have been spending alot of time working on the last
  17. hes a cracker mate would like to see the pic of him now
  18. there is still a dark spot in the centre of the beam regardless how it is focussed, just wondered if this is the norm
