  1. Skellig babe won the oaks I backed her myself on monday @ 7/1 after her first course she was awsome.
  2. The national coursing meeting kicked off to-day some great coursing was witnessed by a large crowed attending there was no major surprises in the opening round of the oaks all the fancied bitches coming through. Gadget Girl justified her favouritism with an outstanding run up the hill she was heavily backed this morning she is now standing @ 3/1 but my fancy, Skellig Babe could upset Brendan Mathews chances she was well backed this morning and is now 4/1. The Derby produced some brilliant coursing I think Needam skill will take some beeting especialy with the 2nd favourite Re Me Martin beate
  3. Bells are handy at locating your ferret above ground we used them for years before locators were available. But you will need plenty of spares as they clog up with mud easly use two bells at a time, if you can get your hands on some falconry bells these are much better. But they are no substitute for locators.

  15. They were lucky it was the guards that caught them and not the coursing club members, around this area it would have been broken limbs and it wouldn't be any of the dogs limbs.

  19. Take john b's advice and go back with a ferret fitted with a collar (if possible) you will have a good chance of retreiving him best of luck with it.
  20. Sounds like a good day out lads Myself and a mate had an experience with missing collars a while back we brought this bloke along for a days ferreting, we were doing a hedge with a lot of holes on it me and me mate were on one side this other guy was on the other side Every thing went well all day until we picked up the ferrets and we discovered the collars were missing we searched up and down both sides of the ditch for ages but couldnt pick up any sign of them. Theres no way the collars came of both ferrets at the same time, neither me or my mate picked up the ferrets while they were working
