    Hi Have a 6 year old hob whose been a cracking hunter,his teeth are browning a little and I think his sight is not as good as he nips ocaisionally when I go to pick him up first time,Then realises its me and is fine.What ages have people worked ferrets up until.

    Lamping around my area Cornwall,Alot of the fields meadows are small.so my dogs have to have a good concentration as the night goes on as they may not get another strike,If not caught on the first strike.Where in a bigger field they might be able to get another.I have been to ground that has never been lamped with my fathers 17lb race bred whippet and nailed 6 out of 7 runs straight off.Depends if you get some one who has been rushing there dog to lamp on the ground then the rabbits get shy.Just a shine from the gate on the windyest of nights and there gone.Anyone who knows Cornwall try around

    Yes this is a good feed RED MILLS RACER 27% protien and SUPA GREYHOUND 20% for resting.Supa greyhound is the best resting food I have found.Have had dogs on RED MILLS XCEL 32% protien,Its ok for a short time but only if you are really working the dogs for its muscles to require that amount of protien.Also over protien in a dog can reduce stamina.Have a contact for Redmills if anyone is interested.My Lurchers lived on supa greyhound and pascoe's for years and worked well before I found redmills.

    Personally the long jump has only really appealled to me as of today as I was quite surprised to see the distances cleared,And would definately like to see it in future.The guy Milly his dog is died.But to be honest Mark to you well done.It is quite an achievement on what your brindle bitch done,And just being fit doesn't get you there good dogs.

    Keep her on lead for 4-6weeks 6 myself no free running.If swollen get some anti-inflamatories from vet NOT PAIN KILLERS.

    What alot are trying to say is don't work whippets,they are too small get cut all the time.And only good for showing.

    Here is my 2 pure whippets.They both race and work day/night.The dog being Laguna coursing bred has a good bone structure,coat and good stamina determination.He has mated 5 bitches in 42 days (2 Lurchers and 3 Whippets).2 of them being lurchers and choosing him to bring the height down.the last bitch was a 26" Deerhnd/Saluki/Grey X Collie/Collie/Grey,These should be good pups,As he throws better to lurchers as the different genes connect better.Also the benifits of using a pure bred greyhound or whippet on lurchers.Is you can breed back clean and get a rougher idea of the pups as a having too

    2-3 times a week I roughly go about 2-3miles and they get 15 mins gallopping around a field.Just take it slow and steady.Its good for building a dogs muscles,But you need to give them abit of free running other wise they get to muscle bound and can look abit one paced.

    My mate had a 23" bed/grey X whip/greyxdeerhnd/grey,Cracking dog good determination,And of a good breeding.He was fit as a flea and in tip top condition and would regularly bag 20+,30+ up and till age 5,Whilst out lamping one night caught 46 and the ground we were on was boiling.And the dog still wanted to go on,Then all of a sudden collapsed,Never was the same and had fits there after had to be homed as a pet.He was the type of dog you could run to death.100 RABBITS WITH ONE DOG ALONE NO OTHER DOGS TAKEN OR SWAPPED ITS NOT POSSIBLE.

    Most whippets or running dogs from showing backgrounds can work to a reasonable standard.Personally I would say a show bred would be ok for rabbits.Its how you raise them train them.
