just my opinion but this whole argument reminds me of when we all (hopefully) stood together up london and gave up a few days and not at inconsiderable cost to some of us, to stand up for the fox hunting people, hopefully through commeraderie,and mutual respect, inevitably hunting was banned. just as paulus said, i to sold my 17, expensive ammo, after i bought it couldnt really see the point in it, .22 does one job , 22.250 does the next, just had to try one to see what all the fuss was about. Like they say one mans meat is anothers poison, some people love them, personally i wouldnt give one space in my cabinets again.

Ethics dictate you should never take a head shot because of the high risk of blowing the jaw off, however i have done it once or twice, but only when the deer was either facing directly away or towards me. Eitherway hit, or clean miss , ok or a glancing blow, which will be fatal or superficial wound. personally chest shot first choice ,second low neck, head if there is no other choice and its close. Even then i would rather let it go for another day rather than risk it.

i have to make some space for a new rifle that is coming, after much deliberation i have decided to sell my Hush power 12 bore fully moderated single barrel folding shotgun, i bought a slab of no 6 subsonics with it there are still 246 cartridges left, in other words its fired 4 shots,. It is as quiet as they say it is, about the same as a spring airgun without a moderator, they would never win a beauty contest , but then neither would i. have for sale 26 imbra traps, all in good working order, springs good, very little use. surface rust only. as anyone interested will know, these are like rocking horse s..t to get hold of in any quantity. You can buy them individualy on e bay at rediculous prices, have a look. However i am not looking for silly money just sensible offers as i want to use the money for nets. if someone wanted to buy them and sell them individualy they could make a nice bit on them. personally i dont have the time. if anyone is interested please pm me.

Hi charlotte, First off, would i be right in saying you keep the dogs in the house? If yes, although frontline is very good, if you are regularly getting re-infestation then i would suggest that you go to your vet/pet shop and try to get something like ARDAP. This you will use to spay all soft furnishing that the dogs come in contact with, carpets, perticularly near the skirting boards and also the furniture, this is where fleas will very often lay their eggs. did a job just outside penzance for an equestrian centre year before last,about mid august. Started picking off rabbits about 3pm with a brno .22rf , carried on until it got to dark to shoot, had a brew ,then started lamping, carried on till about 4am,might have been a little earlier. went back and had another brew. then went around picking them off till around 11am. Rabbits were still coming out but i was shagged. had piled them up pretty well throughout the night, lost about a dozen to a vixen and her cubs that id seen around during the small hours.
