Thats interesting, was doing a wasp job early part of last season and the customer asked if i DO moths as well as she had a huge one in the kitchen, when i looked it was one of these, i put it outside and ment to look it up and completley forgot.

Fenbo firstly not knocking your thread in anyway, but i feel it needs mentioning that there is a fair bit of controversy about foxes with 17 hmr,s. Down here several keeper friends have had well placed shots on foxes with the affore mentioned at even silly close ranges and it has knocked them over only to get back up and run off. One of the keepers has just had it happen for the second time, neither fox being further than fifty yards, he wont be using it on foxes again. Lots of people rant about this calibre i know but these things need to be kept in prospective, there was even a couple of di

John b, generally if a fox takes them the snare is still there with the head, if a badger takes it the poor bugger is peeled, skin pulled back, (quite impressive) unless your the one in the snare. personally i think the rabbit snapped it because either the wire wasnt up to it or the rabbit spun it till it snapped. No doubt though i will be ridiculed for my assumptions, being an amateur and all.

Just thought should add that GW was if i remember correctly refering to Springers lack of killing ability on mink which are apparently notorious to kill with a trap. Sorry if i mis quoted you Glenn.

There has been a bit of discussion about Fenn verses Springer recently on here, Well i bought 75 springers off Ian Hodge a little over two months ago and they have been in the ground everyday since, (not the same holes). Snareman very kindly sent me a pm suggesting that i would be better off getting Fenn,s because of the springs having seven coils as opposed to Springers five etc, Unfortunatly i had already parted with my £520. Now then i say unfortunatly but to be fair at the moment i am very pleased with them, if set correctly they kill very well, big old bucks and little fryers alike. qui

Bought a 6.5 x 55 Steyr pro hunter last autumn, BRILLIANT, does everything and then some. Honest foxy doesnt care what calibre you use, JUST MAKE SURE IT IS SAFE.
