    Well Darcy I would like to start one on the problems I'm encountering with regards to bait aversion and possibly even some resistance to an extent, it's got to the stage now where I'm not reaching for the bait on some of my larger dairy farm contracts, instead I'm battering them with air rifles and nv instead. Very time consuming but it's keeping the farmers happy while I try to kill off the bait shy /resistant ones. Out last night six till one thirty, shot somewhere in Rhe region of a hundred rats, got some quite good footage too on the mpr.

    This is not the place for infantile school yard bull shit! This is supposed to be a section for grownups to discuss pest control etc, because of childish shit we lost Matt, who like him or not, has forgotten more about pest control than a lot of the noddies on here will ever know about it. We've had some great others here in the past too, all fecked off to other places because of knob head's. I didn't bother with this site for a couple of years because Muppet posts were making my piss boil, starting to feel that way again. Shame but there you go.

    Hiya Clive, mine are definitely the ones aimed at talpa europea, I've spoken to Steve albano on a couple of occasions a couple of years ago before buying the first dozen. Much prefer being able to set the trigger where I want it as opposed to it being permanently set like on the trapline. Not dismissing them, but just think I've found a trap that suits me better.

    Personally I'm starting to use these more than my traplines,even though I get the traplines brought over by my bil, a lot cheaper than over here, they are still too expensive to lose to badger. My other slight reservation with them is how many times I've had the moles go almost over the trigger and get caught round the haunches, this I believe would never happen with the putanges. The putange really does keep impressing me at the mo, each time almost without exception the prongs are right behind the head, there is surely no humaner trap currently available.

    I always find it amusing when people knock the escort! I've had my fac version for about seven years now, God knows how many rounds I've put through it and it's never missed a beat. However, I clean it every time I take it out without fail.

    Another way is to tie a short length of red & white traffic tape to the eye of the Putange and lay it over the Duffus. Now that's a good simple idea! My metal marker pegs have that tape on the top, if it weren't a domestic I would just spray the grass with marker spray, but some people might get the hump if I spray their newly laid turf with spray paint.

    Putanges, are without a doubt playing a big part in my mole work now. Until six months ago I would just have written them off as a gimmick, my mantra was "the only way is duffus". Now I find myself reaching further down my traps bucket to pull one of them out more and more. The fifty I received recently from Clive have now all been tweaked, tried various ways of attaching trigger to trap, tried the braid and knots first, let's just say it didn't work for me, swearing and tantrums.     You sick puppy! And airgun ant,s not much better. I've been using these for six months now, they have been in the ground constantly during that time on different jobs. Yesterday I had my first foul catch, it had its paw and most of the shoulder in the jaws, interesting though, there was no signs of struggle and the paw was not bloated and purple like you get with say a foul caught one in a duffus?.     Yep, it really looks the business, but I think Clive etc put the attachment at the top to stop the trigger rolling forward when your placing the traps. However I could be wrong?

    Nice one Clive! Arrived this afternoon. Sorry to hear about your drama. On the bright side, your ferry won't have to hide behind Jersey all night then make a mad dash for Portsmouth in the morning, what a bleeding night! I stayed up till 5am watching boxing and drinking Stella, I was too scared to go down the cabin. Lol

    You aren't joking! I've just found out I'm coming across Thursday to Saturday next week, if you fancy a quick spin up to Brittany I'll save you carrying one parcel, lol.Incidentally, I checked a job this morning where I had two putanges in one hole, both had caught in exactly the same way, and I do mean exactly! Directly behind the head and left paw forward, if the customer hadn't been there I would have photographed it.

    Sooner they arrive the better! I'm starting to rely quite heavily on these now, never thought I would say that about anything other than the duffus.

    We regularly take moles out of traps where the tunnels are completely full of water, I used to think when setting in real boggy ground that there was no chance with water already running through, but sure enough come back and there they were.

    I revisited these again recently, more out of annoyance at myself not being able to catch with them more than anything else. No good! Still can't catch with them, tried the ball, no ball, partial fill, complete fill. They've now gon back to the shed to be used for holding dust clothes etc to scaffolding when needed, think that's probably what they are really for if the truth be known.

    Some more really useful tips there, wouldn't have thought to set them and see if they are sprung in the morning. As for the slippy when new, that's why I ordered a pack of spares! if they ain't tied and they ping, your never going to see that trigger again unless your in a 2'x2' room!I have "ahem", several traps here without triggers. Lol.

    I was particularly interested in the different ways we all go about things! I too use a spoon, but your retaining pins being sort of like a bent tent peg. Mine that I originally made for use with my traplines, and now my putanges, is for lack of a better description like a woman's hair pin but made of non tensile fencing wire and about three inches deep/long, so I just put one leg either side of the putange spring to hold it in place. Coming back to the spoon, I use it not only to clear and smooth the pipe (run/tunnel) I also use it as a gauge to check direction and depth to ensure the putang

    Hay, you vewy funny man! Video very good too! If someone can't catch a mole after that they must be clueless. I'm reaching for the putange out of preference more and more, a real bonus is that to date I've not had a single mole in one that was caught inhumanley, no matter how good you are with barrels, it still sometimes happens. Only downside of this video, is it reminded I haven't been back in France since end of July.
