  1. none of those breeds pull weight along ice, historically in bare feet and sleep outside sometimes below -30. nope a foxhound, collie or sloughi would all be dead within a couple of days (at most) doing what these dogs do.
  2. i understand what your saying but if they take to the malamute they would still be athletic surely? not as fast but still very durable with stamina to burn.
  3. I cant think of a dog with more stamina or durability than a sled dog, could see them being good lamping dogs.

  5. My missus ordered 3 books from there at about 10.30 last night hoping theyd get here for me by xmas. they arrived at about 12 this afternoon, was very impressed by how quick it arrived. if any of you have partners into huntin and have left it till the last minute i'd recommend them
  6. i think some people don't know the difference between being obnoxious and having a reasonable debate. would a warning system work? at first sign of someone acting up you could warn them so at least they know what theyre doing wrong, then if they continue ban them.
  7. like i said in the other thread, you don't see people moaning about the dickheads who go out and shoot them. and theres 10 times more 'sport' in running 1 in snow than there is blastin it at any time.
  8. mine just have clean, dry and draught free houses with good regularly changed bedding. if the weather gets too bad they'll come in the house but they've been fine so far.
  9. i don't mind him,his humors a bit immature but its the kind of thing you can watch at your nan's house and not feel awkward.
  10. funny how people go on about killing hare in the snow or out of season but you don't hear much about the cunnt's shooting them, thats 10 times more f****d up imo. same with shooting any land animal that can be taken by a dog.
  11. if we're talking purely boxing skills theres no competition...for the shadow
  12. move quietly and be aware of where the dead ground is.
  13. isnt tyson a muslim too? either way Ali beat's Tyson imo probably the most heart i can think of being shown in a boxing match would be Benn vs McClellan. Benn went through hell and back to get that win.
  14. personally i'd never kennel any 2 dogs together unless i was 100% sure they would get on in every conceivable circumstance.
  15. i blame toffs/shooters,either directly by shooting them or indirectly by the keeper shooting them to stop people running them and risking his pheasants, which in turn are only valuable because the toff/shooter is willing to pay to shoot them.
  16. well i'd take a dog that could do hares single and coyotes doubled/tripled up over a single handed hare and fox dog. but youre right i havent ever seen these dogs with my own eyes,so probably shouldnt assume too much. anyway i think i'd go for a fast well worked bull/grey x fox killing saluki blooded coursing dog, just because in theory it should work.
  17. yep all in the past (and hopefully future) but would the result of a good hare dog x good regular fox dog breeding be sub-par at both? would it be better just try and breed for some balls in a coursing dogs? some people have said you can't get the best of both, but again look at some of the threads posted by the Americans, their dogs can catch jack rabbit and coyotes so fox should be absolutely no problem to them.
  18. so coursing dogs themselves often make good fox dogs? well that would back up my idea of putting a good hare dog to a good (fast) fox dog.
  19. i suppose if they were line bred and culled hard saluki grey types could be a way to go,like the deer-grey type staghounds in america.
  20. hopefully it will mean a lot less show bred shite comes into existence
  21. why have 2 dogs for jobs that can be done by a single dog. in America they have running dogs that do hare's and COYOTES let alone feckin fox
  22. often on big feilds would the best idea be to x a good fox dog with a good hare dog? or would the resulting dogs just be too slow and without enough stamina for hare and lack balls for charlie (regularly)?
  23. your right mate,i dont understand football fans tbh,the only sport i follow and enjoy is boxing and although i admit i'd prefer to see an English (or failing that i'd settle for british) fighter win,a good fights a good fight. whereas most football fans dont even seem to enjoy or care about the sport itself, just that their side wins. if you enjoy watching football your home team playing should only be a bonus shouldnt it? and like you said its sad for those Brits who genuinely enjoy football.
