alright mate not saying they can't make decent dog's but what are they better at than a bull x? cracking looking lot you've got by the way,if they can guard the yard and do even half of what a lurcher can do they'd be a handy dog to have about.

dogs are property but it seems people arent fully accountable for them imo anyway ,im not saying we should remove any existing animal welfare legislation. i do get what you mean about some dogs don't suit everyone and hopefully soon theres some other breed coming along for all the dick heads to use as ego boosts

im against any liscensing partly because it without a shadow of a doubt wouldnt work and partly because we should all only be responsible for ourselves. that said for me the dog has to be 100% under control,with my lurchers that means they stay on lead in public and for my stafford it mean's he never given the chance,his lead goes on his collar before the chain comes off before walks,the only time he isn't restrained by a lead or chain is when he is in the house with us,which isnt more than once a day.

well if we just class dog's as property then I think we'll be Ok,I mean a pen can be dangerous in the wrong hand's. if we make prison more of a deterrent,then personal responsibility works. i think if we just said you will be charged for whatever damage a dog does as if you yourself done it we would be ok,i.e it bites an innocent person and does real damage you get done for GBH.

I hate it with a passion,but then again I love the breed most legislated against and demonised. even if it was a breed i didn't particularly like i'd still oppose it. imo we need to fight for our freedoms back,but also need to push for personal responsibility.

no ball's when you compare it to a bull, very heavy set,and just generally add's absolutely nothing to a lurcher that another breed couldnt. the are quite intelligent though and i suppose it could double as a guard dog,but couldnt see it catching much bar the odd lamped rabbit.

can you get other info put on the chip,like do not neuter(knowing what rescues are like for it)?or any special dietary requirements?

i actually would be tempted to have a racy one in the future if i thought it could double up as a decent guard dog.

in parts of asia people skin alive and then eat dog's why not pts these ex-racer's and help those? you could alleviate a hell of a lot more suffering with your 200-300 pounds if you did that.

i got kicked out of school when iwas about 14 eventually the school said that i could come in 3 days a week but had to have a work placement 2 days,they let me choose and since i liked dogs i picked a local rescue. anyway this may sound far-fetched but you are exactly right,they often DONT want to re-home dogs,i seen them turning down home after home for dogs they liked for the stupidest of reasons like the person was wearing trainers. and the few times they did get taken away i'd see these freaks crying and blubbing about the dog being so happy while it was there etc etc. How the fec

alaunt gentile was a running mastiff that became extinct,people have recreated them by crossing bull/grey/mastiff in varying amounts.

i was just making the point that if 'any dog raised properly will die for you' every single dog would (if it needed to) die dead game defending if you were attacked by another dog right? or to put it another way,lots of the old game dog's would quit before dying,they were the gamest dogs to ever exist,so to say any dog (in this case a GSD) raised correctly will die for you is wrong.

what are the advantages of an alaunt as opposed to a bull/grey? i refuse to believe they're as tenacious i can't see many being as fast or much stronger. could be wrong of course.

add to that you can yourself be very careful who you buy from and sell to.

the way to solve all the strays is to cull every dog that you can't/don't want to keep,we need people to start adopting this attitude because it will also help destroy the animal charities like the rspca.

Can't believe the amount of tool's saying they want more f*****g rules on keeping dog's how about we make it illegal to breed dogs and all just take on rescues? or better yet just ban all dog's? we need to be trying to reduce all this red tape not create more ffs.
