  1. A handfull of stones from nextdoors garden always did the trick when I was younger
  2. 9mm steels and 12mm leads are both good, around 9ftlb with the steels and 16ftlb with the leads, the steels fly flatter though. Going to have a go with marbles, nice idea Cheap too!! I have only been using my mates catty at the moment but I have one orderd, good bit of fun! .atb. .ste.
  3. Ay up wurz, hows it going mate?

  4. Take a chill pill, poaching has been going on for hundreds of years, your not going to stop it, I would be more worried obout the ones that are good at what they do and dont get spotted, let the kids be mate, dont think they stand to do you any real harm just after a rabbit or two, I would only have something to say if I thaught they were putting themselves in danger, me and my mate have ventured from a footpath onto private land to help a sheep out of a fence wich had its head stuck and quite possibly died if it was left, dont assume the worst of people .atb. .ste.
  5. Mike, I thaught you said as a minimum requirement they need to own a spade!! Only joking, cracking offer for someone, nice one mike .atb. .ste.
  6. Hi Bob, You are correct about the lead, however Duck can legally be bopped with an air rifle as long as it is within season as it is classed as game and not verminHowever anyone doing so should have the permission from the landowner or whoever and only a fool would try to drop one whilst in flight :laugh:Tony Ahem..... a little bit of leed at 20yds .atb. .ste. :11:
  7. When in a hole stop digging Unless its to your terrier. . . Then again a proper keeper wouldent have one of them either I suppose! Pure rubbish! .atb. .ste.
  8. Gunter, I accept you droped a ball and for that you appologise. However you said "if a keeper gets a chance to shoot a lurcher we will" "we" meaning you and others, so when you now say it wasn't your views, just something you read, thats just back pedaling. I think you would not shoot a dog and as others have said were just spouting off. Good luck with finding work, dont offer to shoot dogs for them though or you will find yourself in deep shite, fingers crossed your f.l.o isnt reading this thread .atb. .ste. ( A genuine lurcher owner )
  9. Oh dear, a dog killer!! You would have to shoot me also if it were my dog you shot!! I dont think you represent many keepers as your trying to make out. .atb. .ste.
  10. Hi Ste, I hope your Polishing that Trophy and keeping it in Mint Condition atb Daz. Sory lads had to weigh it in for cash!! Bad times! Only joking, its pride of place on mantle piece, safe and sound ready for the next meet .atb. .ste.
  11. Oh no not this again  Yeti, it realy dosent matter mate, both are equal and have pro's and con's wich im sure we will hear about shortly, the decision is yours and witchever you choose if you practace enough you will become blisteringly accurate, accuracy is the name of the game, I would say s400 for mainly target use, s410 for mainly hunting, both as good as each other and a superb choice of rifle And welcome to the forum .atb. .ste.
  12. Suppose there is always a small outside chance the skirts could be geting caught slightly between leaving mag and entering barrel hense groups are not so tight? ? .atb. .ste.
  13. Maybe your just taking a little more time with shots when reloading by hand, I know I can be a bit heisty when smashing shot after shot from a mag. More thinking and breathing time before shots, more care taken in relaoding could pass on to more care with the shot. I find a lot of niggles like that are all in my head. .atb. .ste.
  14. Ha ha moley how times have changed, im sure you would have hit him with an smk or hatsan sales pitch a couple of months ago Welcome to the forum mate, whatever you get accuracy is the key .atb. .ste.
  15. Cheers andy, I dident doubt you for a second mate That would be great if you would do that for me in the near future .atb. .ste.
  16. Nice one andy, appreciate that Just got a bit more research to do yet, dont want to do anything detrimental to accuracy or handling, to have four full length rifles it makes sense to make one into something a little different, fit for a specific purpose, I think I will use the bsa as my gramp has a spare barrel for it just incase I decided to sell it as I know a super short carbine isnt to everyones taste, just have to see what it feels like breaking the barell further down, I think it is the supersport its been with my uncle for a while, it is a break barell not a tap loader like some other
  17. Cheers pianoman, I have no intention of carrying out the mod myself as I am aware it requires a certaing amount of skill and attention to detail to cut a barrel with a degree of precision beyond me and my junior hacksaws capabilities also I want a unf thread on the shroud to fit a twink mk2, the rifles to choose from are a bsa supersport wich will require a certain amount of barrel to maintain a smoothe cocking action (as you mentioned), or my newly aquired c02 smk wich I have taken a liking to as it is light, easy in the shoulder and feels sturdy, or another old break barrel that isnt a pat
  18. Looks to me like a case of all different land/circumstance/requirements, manage yours to suit YOU! I do!! But if people are having problems with hares, please net them and bring them over here .atb. .ste.
  19. Just a quickie. . . 1. What is the shortest you would take a .22 barrel too before you start to loose accuracy? 2. What is the legal requirement for 12ftlb energy barrel length (minimum) ? Just looking to shorten a rifle for my own take on driven shooting .atb. .ste.
  20. I really want to come to the next one Davey. All credit when credits due it looks like its been profesionaly organised mate . there's a few faces I recognise in the pictures! Look like you all had a cracking time atb Jasp I saw that episode of crime watch aswel jasp .atb. .ste.
  21. This is the edited version of my poast after I read it back to myself, according to thl server I am no longer authorised to edit my own post?? Strange! I have very little permision, but am happy to take rabbits anytime of the year as and when I see them or the dog see them, same goes for wood pigeon, rats, ferals, corvids and grey squizzers. Dont see hares so dosent come into it. Little by little wont make an impact on population species in that area, just keeps it under control, hense pest 'control' also plugging away at it through the year keeps you in the eyes of the farmer who

Game :- However I will not take duck / pheasant and partridge out of season (unless im realy hungry ) At the end of the day its your permision and you will know when to hit it hard and when to ease off and if you dont you wont have much to go at for very long your loss.
