  1. I had two from them in December £100 each. Had the first letters, then reminders, then the big red letters threatening the end of the world. The end lol. Didn't even acknowledge them... Don't waste your paper...
  2. Tikka T3 lite stainless .223 1-12 twist Leupold VX111 3.5-10x50 (2007) Leupold mounts PES/MAE sts .224 mod Clover leaf groups at 90m and sub 1 inch at 150m with my reloads but I'm sure someone with more knowledge of reloading will better that.. £900 Kent
  3. Its been a long boring summer and I don't think a single day has passed without me thinking about getting back out at first light with my young dog to exersize some big rabbits... Been mooching all summer, every evening as the temperature dropped but now finally these past weeks have given me hope, crops are down, daylight drawing in, and a slight nip in the air in the mornings... Only meant one thing for me, time to get the bike out! Started off with two miles here and there and gradually increasing up to 5 miles with some sprinting over the football fields at stupid o clock in the morni
  4. I know what you mean. Mine is a big fast dog and struggles with maneuverability at speed....
  5. What would worry you about the deerhound blooded lurchers injury wise Bosun? Just out of interest...
  6. Didn't see your post until I posted trench... Sounds ideal
  7. I doubt anyone with a decent coursing bred bitch would let a first x Alsatian greyhound anywhere near it.. I think you would have more chance of someone letting you use a coursing stud over the hearding type lurcher bitch... I personally like the sound of this breeding but I wouldn't want anything out of a first cross..
  8. Mine was the same at that age mush, he used to hit my other dog as hard, and as fast as he could. Had a few moments where I thought that he might have done himself or my other dog some serious damage. Hes had me over a couple of times, feet higher than my head type "over".... I put it down to high prey drive, just craves the chase, constantly biting the back of my other dogs legs to get a "run out of him", quite happy to chase or be chased.. Its only reading this that made me realize that he doesn't do the full blast collisions any more, just runs alongside bumping into him biting the
  9. Agreed, I'm sure a few novices would get better results with a strict plan. I was just generalising, if one of my mates wanted to start training with me and I gave them the diet in the first post I wouldn't expect to see them after the first week.. Slightly off topic but something me and my training partner are seeing time and time again, we train in a rough and ready gym on an industrial estate, half the lads in there have been inside and are a bit of a handful. They come in the gym start training and jump straight on the gear, get massive, strong and bloated, confidence goes through
  10. Spot on. For someone who hasn't done much in a gym, if you train 3 or 4 times a week going reasonably heavy. Cut the crap out of your diet and up the protein, and rest. You will see a difference reasonably quickly.. Bollocks to all that " so many grams of oats", unless your a bodybuilder training for a comp... That's all well and good. But look at how many fat fuckers you see in the gym. Who stay fat week after week. Don't you think they THINK they are eating the right things? They just don't understand how many calories they are putting into their bodies until they count them calories

  12. Good luck with the pups, Hope everything goes well for her
  13. Just read this from start to finish. Great thread, lets hope these dogs are just the beginning ... This is my young dog Chief, bred Romeo X Belle... Goes back to Maggie, Blondie and Dancer on Romeos side. Buddy X Kim and Foxy on Belles side..
  14. That's good to hear TC should have some fun with her this season..looking forward to seeing her at them.. I'm going to put everything into Chief this season! I've just been mooching about with him through the summer got his recall spot on and he's flying over gates now... Fingers crossed we have some more excellent days out! Might even treat myself to a new pair of binoculars!
  15. It wasn't until I picked up my coursing pup that I realised how important the breeding and make up of each animal is... He had the ingredients in him from 9 weeks old... He was always going to be fast, agile, have bags of stamina and have instinct to run cunning..The prey drive deeply engrained in him also wasn't put there by me or anyone else... Owning a dog from non working stock and a dog from generations of top class daytime dogs, it's clear to me that the breeding is paramount to the success of each mutt.. Like Morton said I think most lurchers will lamp to a good enough standard but
  16. Thanks rifle hunter, I'll keep that in mind... Haven't noticed any more like that since...
  17. I step in a bit early to avoid any fighting. Soon as I see another dog I stick the finger straight in.. When asked I just say it's a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of all dogs..
  18. The thing I was told about crimping (which put me off) was that if you have different thicknesses of brass in the neck, the tension will be different...Obviously the thicker the brass the tighter the tension? Haven't tried it yet but I understand that annealing cases before neck sizing may give you more consistentcy with neck tension...?
  19. Yes, very good lamping scope, nice big clear picture, nice fine reticle. but it is not a long range scope... If you regularly shoot past 250, there are better scopes for the job... If you are stalking and not regularly shooting past 250 when lamping its perfect..
  20. It's a Tikka T3, I think the cases I use might need a full length resize...
  21. How did you achieve those groups Gaz6Br? Shooting prone off a bipod? What mag scope, must have been perfect conditions? I use a leupold on 10x and even at 150m the crosshair nearly covers the 1inch sticker I use! I'm sure my loads can group better but it's me that's the weak link...
  22. Ignor the aim point, they was still flying over an inch high at 150m so adjusted the scope but over did it a bit... Looks a fast and flat load... Next stop 200m!
  23. Slight breeze blowing today about 8mph but constant enough, I was desperate to see how these new 40grn nosler loads shoot at slightly longer range... So I measured out 150m (164 yards) and shot 4, 3 shot groups. had one flyer but they averaged 0.7 inch. For a bog standard Tikka T3 and a newbie reloader, I'm happy! (for now)
