  5. Firstly stop beating with her she will get progressively worse.. She more and likely chasing and hunting for herself..She will need to go into a rabbit pen where theres plenty of scent. And where u will be able to get to her . In the pen tighten her pattern by tightening her beat qrt her two steps sideways on back you that is she must turn to ur whistle you dont cover any ground fast.It wil bore u shitless and her but it will make her stay close. Is she steady to flush? if not get some pigeons clipped sit her up throw them to the ground to her side if she moves to get em stop her place back
  6. can anyone out there help ,i have just started beating and my little bitch hunts as hard,if not harder than any dog on the shoot.her recall is good until she enters cover or is out of site,i just cant stop her is there anything that i can do or is it too late, any advice is gratefully appreciated thank you very much
  7. sit the dog and walk away,if the dog moves shake it up a little and put it back on the exact same spot ,when the dog finally stays never call it to you,you must return to the dog and praise it.i was shown this technique by a proffessional gundog trainer and my spaniel sits and stays for hours when i am shooting let me know how you get on

  21. maybe i am a soft fecker but i dont shoot pigeons in the summer because i cant stand the thought of young uns starving in the nest whilst i fry their parents breasts each to there own though
  22. my lakeland bitch will do absolutely anything to reach her quary and i do mean anything, the dog is an absolute pshyco....but once home she is my kids teddy bear! i dont think its anything to do with training just a want to kill or prey drive, she does my head in at times but she is the best dog i have ever owned so is it possible to have too much prey drive?i dont know the answer to that question maybe catch 22
  23. try and pick your runs for a little while, let your dog gain some more confidence i would suggest that this is frustration and i bet it is only on longer runs.also i dont know how you run your dog but make sure its singley because jealousy can also make them yap atb
