you can add a shim to the rear of sight or front to help with elevation, but your left and right, it sounds like the mounts are at fault, rather than the sight, re check those first,
-
Id say niether of these will be any good for you, both look more like rifle scopes, giving a max of 300yds, were as on your air rifle your looking at a max of 40yds, bit of a difference, remember the more magnification you have, the more you'll notice the "rifle shake" and a nice looking/better than a basic scope, wont improve your aim or hit rate, if anything it'll make it worse,

Pest Control................

and there's me, counting the days for my FAC, your making me jealous pat nice pictures though, is that an out of focus Inan -
no, he needs to go to specsavers, theres a section, THATS PINNED AT THE TOP OF PAGE, giving ferreters an area/post to sell their ferts, bit too hard for some
-
would you want to go out to work on an empty stomach if your feeding meat, then feed the night before, wake them the next morning, let them have a shite before boxing up
-
what about your local gun club, although it limits you on when you can or cant get access to a gun due to opening times etc
-
you sure the students hadent been feeding the rabbits magic mushrooms, and the reason they did'nt run off, is cos they were stoned
-
cheers mate, exactly what I needed
-
bought this a few months back, but now Ive applied for my FAC, its got to go to make room for a rimmy its a Investarm 20G O/U 3 inch chambers, game chokes, single trigger fitted with top safety catch,in very good condition, comes with around 6 full boxes of carts and a few odd ones, not trying to make money on this, so I'll let it go for the same as I paid £175 no offers collection only from essex, SGC holders only
-
right, Ive tried looking for some info on the net, but cant find exactly what Im after, plenty of sites give names, makes etc of rimfire ammo, but I need more rat shot, small lead shot, but whats the max distance it will travel? have also heard theres a round suitable for using inside barns/buildings etc, for shooting ferals, whats it called?, have seen sites mention cb & bb but not sure if thats it, and again, a max distance it would travel cheers all
-
funny, but in the last 4 yrs, Ive ferreted every summer, yes the hob I use will kill undergrown, but then moves on, Ive never dug a ferret out, because it had killed and was eating, maybe Im just lucky
-
I did'nt say, keep it to ourselves, just people off here you can get an idea what they are like, by reading there posts, topics, profile etc, you can then deciede wether they are the type to thank you, or stab you in the back and try nicking/poaching your permission but you carry on leaving posts without reading replies fully
-
Id say, forget the whole idea, just stick to inviting members from here, out on ferreting days, as doing what you propose can only mean trouble, as you sound like it would be more than a one off, say you take out 10 people x 10 times per season, and one from each party take up ferreting, thats ten more lads/lasses in your area wanting permission, and they may all, not give a shite if its legal or not, one area in essex I shoot, the local farmers are ANTI FERRET because off the amount of kids walking around with a fert, leaving ferts behind, as well as mess, and illegal poaching, makes ferretin

me too, waiting for the land check and reply, fingers crossed it dont take forever, sold my TDR air arms to fund the new rifle, so have £400 burning a hole in my pocket, will be getting a 16" cz varmint

and you then used the report button, to notify the mods so it could be removed or you just let it be, thinking it'll give you the excuse to moan about it when your post is removed nuff said

I as a pestie/ survey, quoted it costing around £1000 for materials my managers added £15000 for labour, inc 84 days visits throughout a year contractors who were subbing work to us, added £10,000 for their labour totally around £26000 a single pestie though could have done this job, inc a yearly contract, for a few grand, but the amount of certification needed to enter/live rail areas on the underground, plus the paperwork, and multiple contractors, as certain trades cant touch other trades areas, is what bumps prices up

His name on here is "dog".... also the thread had been up on here for a week so why pull it now . This was a genuine sale. mods rarely sit on the computer scanning every new post, hundreds get posted daily, so theres always a few that slip through the net, it maybe got pointed out by another member using the "REPORT" button as advised, get his name number and post under his own name, saves breaking rules, at least whoever deleated it, did'nt increase your warning level for posting it

I could'ent give a toss what way its done, I was mealy pointing out something that was noted by the poster, he also mentioned it being a payed job, so irrelivent of wether he subs out the work to a free terrier man, or a paid pestie, if anything goes wrong, the blame will come back to him, irrelivent on the subby being paid or not you dont need to tell me bout health and safety, I gave up construction to be a pestie, and the underground are 10 times worst for wasting money on simple jobs a rabbit job I priced at just over a grand, finally ended up at £26000 after all the crap w

I can understand you'll get different replies from pesties and hunters, and both ways can be effective in the control of rats, but what everyone has failed to notice, or maybe they did notice it, but failed to let it register, is the statement below, this on its own is the reason a certified pest controller needs to be called in, theres way to many adverts on the tv nowdays, quoting, where theres blame, theres a claim, not following the statement below, if ANYTHING was to happen while this job was being undertaken, the owners would'ent want a claim directed at themselves, loosing them mone

cheers for that, now Ive been told something, that I need to check out, as I stated, the leaseholder of the land has given me permission, they asked the land management company that they lease the land from, if it was ok to give me shooting permission, and they ok'd it, now the land is owned by the church, and Ive been told I need the landowners (church) permission, is that right or wrong
-
RIGHT, THANKS FOR ALL THE GOOD ADVICE, second hand route is the way to go, for me anyway ANOTHER QUESTION;, seems everything is falling into place,, a ferreting permission that Ive had for a few years, contacts me every summer asking me to ferret, I normally attend, just to keep them happy, yet even though they quote 50 plus rabbits, we normally come away with 5 or less, (summertime) I had strict instructions by the land management, that this couldent be shot over, well the lease holder got in touch with me a few days ago, again asking me to ferret, this time I said no, not until winter, b

I only looked into 16" as cz advertise it on their website, and therefore thought it was a standard size, have since yesterday, found another RFD thats advertising second hand 16" starting at £195 and £295, so another dilema sets in, although a new cz is as cheap as chips (most sizes) I have noticed posts explaining that they need xx amount of shots put through them, or people dry firing them at home, to get the bolt working nicely, also reports that any fitting of trigger kits makes the warrenty void, if thats the case, its makes sence to buy second hand, bolt would probably be worn in, and

Yeah, then add about £60 for a re-proof! if you plan to keep the rifle i wouldnt bother getting it reproofed so reproofing is only neccesary for selling on a rifle then,
-
jumping the gun a bit even before getting my FAC, but popped into a shop local to me to get some rifle prices, now the rifle Im interested in is the cz varmint 16" barrel plus moderator now the shop only had a 20" in stock, priced new @ £340 but quoted £420 for ordering in a 16" why such an increase, considering your getting "less" barrel how dear would it be to have the 20" cut down and re threaded by a gun smith,

have ferreted mid spring/summer quite a few times now, same as you, not wanting to loose permission, or a paid pest control job, mainly people owning a field or two next to their house, I always explain to the customer the reasons for winter ferreting compaired to spring/summer, but I always stipulate, that any areas they want ferreting, they need to cut back the undergrowth a week or two before my visit, most have those sit on lawn cutters/small tractors, always get a 3ft strip mown either side, its then very easy to set out the long nets, and not that many more digs
