i reckon being a pet doesn,t affect hunting ability as long as the dogs fit,like you said the dog will probably benefit from interaction being kept in the hoose.

i would work on her conifidence, she seems a little shy, its the bite and hold action shes withdrawing from, get a tug toy or something covered in a bunny skin and play tug with her, get her to really sink her teeth into it and try to pull it out of your hands,,after she get used to that , introduce a squeaking noise during the game, until she used to the squeaking , while playing best of luck,, yes it seems shes soft natured but there will be a wee demon waiting to come oot,just be patient,i reckon she,ll come good,

oot last night as well,pups first time,she had about 6 runs and managed to turn two or three but didn,t connect,she,s picking it up quite quickly though and is watching down the beam so its all good. the mates dog caught a couple and when it dropped one to run another in the beam the pup picked it up and followed us over the field with it for a 40 yards or so before i took it from her so i,m well chuffed with the retrieving,taking the pup ferreting in a couple of days so looking forward to that,i,ve been looking forward to entering the pup and now its here its great,

Glad he behavin 4 u mate...lets hope he stays that way!! sighthound types are generaly harder to train to retrieve,etc but patience and time should get results,seems like your doing very well though,atb
