Sorry lads I,m a bit daft lol , I know how to add a mesh but how does losing a mesh work, I mean if you deliberately not pick up a mesh how doe,s that not feck the net up
again forgive me for my ignorance but I,ve just started making my own
while on the subject of hazel, I have found some trees round about, whats the best way to treat them , do you dry them out and varnish them or what, I,ve never used a long net but intend making one now I,m a master netmaker lol
There is some truth in the saying you can,t teach an old dog new tricks but 6/7 months ain,t an old dog, I suppose taking a very young pup the odd wee ferreting trip isn,t going to do the pup any harm but personaly I can,t see the point, more of a hindrance I think
IMO a pup doesn,t need to go out hunting trips untill its at least 6 mths old and then only ferreting, taking a pup out before this is a waste of time as its not got the mentallity to learn much when its just a young puppy, much better just walking the pup, socializing, letting it absorb the sights and sounds of everyday life, let it BE A PUP and of course basic training regularly, I,m sure folk will disagree but this is how i,ve always done it and my dogs have became competent at the game of ferreting, lamping I leave untill about 9 months when the dogs physicaly and mentally mature enough for
your answers in your post as far as how the whippets performing, if you,re not massively into lamping your dog probably hasn,t had enough trips out yet to be snatching them up easily
