Tappo is a male,is 17 mounth old and was breed by a friend of mine using dogs imported from germany is parents are good workers.he had only a bit of work last season cos he was really young,but he bolted two fox one shot,one missed and he killed and draw out 4 cubs, I've taken part to 2 field trials one win,one second I'm looking forward to next winter.

Boars hunting has been my biggest passion since I was a child and I followed my dad in frosty winter mornings.the way we hunt boars here in Italy is quite different from the way they are hunted in other countries.Boars are hunted by large team of hunters(up to 60 or more)most of those hunters form a line of shooters along streams or small wood roads while a smallish number go in the woods with a large pack of hounds(my team use more than 50) to find the boars and force them to the shooters line.the biggest pleasure of this form of hunting is to listen to the dogs trailing the boars for hours a

mules are realy vicious last winter I was out boarshunting with my dogs and we encountered a mob of mules and horses feeding in a field one of this b*****ds knoked out one of my dogs with a kick(front leg) :realmad: when my cousine run at him to save the dog from more damage the mule charged him and he had to jump the field fence.I was ready to shoot him when all the mob suddenly started to run and disappeared in a wood.thank good the dog was only knocked out for a few minutes and he did not had internal damage. Now I stay clear of mules and horses when out with the dogs.

SAme thing happened in this years in southern tuscany where someone wanted to give Kc recognition to the local boarshounds only to have is pocket full and calling them "segugio maremmano".these people has selected dogs that are fair different from old local lines and are ruining their hard working reputation :realmad:

having animal in too big numbers can be dangerous,in 1986 boars numbers in southern tuscany were at the biggest level ever seen and protection areas were full of pig we had a psa infection and they take years to recovery

kenneling dogs together is a proplem not only with terrier but with every hunting dog,my boarshounds are used to hunt as a pack but when Hunting season is over they are always fighting each other.Over the years I've lost more dogs to kennell fight then boars .I've had dogs kennelled together for years without a problem and suddenly starting to fight :realmad: .that is one of the reasons I've cut down dog numbers so I can keep them separated.

You are right Kane I've done a serch today on the web looking for border terriers and sealyhams and I was shocked from what I've seen :sick: .What the hell are this breeders doing to hunting breeds sad to say but I think the damage as yet been done forr most terrier breeds,I rate myself fortunate having found a line of working russells keep photos coming :friends:
