  1. Was her mother or father the greyhound
  2. I no ya I was just hoping someone might have one somewhere. If all else fails ill use a heavily greyhound blooded lurcher
  3. Thanks mate that’s a great offer. I can get the use of a coursing dogs of my mate I was just hoping there might be someone one grafting one
  4. Just wondering is there anyone working any coursing greyhounds in Ireland. Looking to use one on a bitch in the future just weighing up my options.
  5. I’ve no shortage of space and dogs foods free so if it doesn’t work all it will cost me is my time
  6. I’m think the same I’d rather an all round lurcher than a one trick pony and I think these could have it all.
  7. I reckon you would have a second to no mooching dogs. Hopefully marking will come first hand to them. A great knows good feet and bone in them. And more than capable of doing big game
  8. Just been chatting to a mate from over the water that runs this type. He said he couldn’t fault the type at all and can’t understand why more lads don’t have them. He also said it’s rare enough to get one that will open up when running. He said it can happen but rarely Happens
  9. It’s grand to have a looker but if they don’t work what use are they. All for s 50c rosette and s cheap bag of dog food.
  10. Do u think the hound has brought much to the cross
  11. What way do they have them crossed and what hounds dig they use
  12. Been chatting it over with a few mates and there willing to run one on if I do the breeding so now to find the right greyhound. This could be the hardest part
  13. That’s my taughts I could get a bitch and try her and if it works out I’d have no problem getting a very good foxhound
  14. It’s just something that’s in my head for a few years now. I just think they could make a real handy all round cross I could be completely wrong. But after spending a few years in hunt service it’s got me thinking how good some foxhounds are and what they could bring to the table. On paper it adds up to exactly what I want in a dog but 2+2 don’t always make four.
  15. A foxhound in full flight aren’t a slow dog to be fair so it wouldn’t surprise me it the cross was quick
  16. It’s just like in my head that a first cross could make a great all round dog. Just to get the right greyhound and right foxhound. I was also thinking about getting a foxhound bitch and putting a racy bull greyhound over her but I think it would take from the speed a bit
  17. Has anyone ever run this cross it’s something that’s been in my head for a few years now. I think the foxhound could bring a lot to the table. Stamina. Make a good day time rough hunting dog hopefully be handy markers. It’s something I’ve on my head to do in the next year or two. Try get a decent grey bitch that’s not afraid of teeth and put a good solid old English dog over her that’s a very good marking hound
  18. I’ve only known of one good one a mate go gifted it as an unentered dog turned out a very decent little thing. Never could find out what was behind him but he looked like a Lakeland ??
  19. Mothers 24 fathers 26
  20. How tall will he grown he’s 6 months on the 10th and he’s 21and a half inches.
  21. There’s lads I no keep getting bad pup after bad pup like they say. But if u ask me it’s all down to entering right in the right places at the right age. Don’t over face them and keep them winning there first season. In out as quick as u can then second season u can start putting time over them. Some lads will never have f**k all because they don’t no how to manage three pups. I’m not saying my way is the right way but it’s been good to me over the years. And the same lads doing all of the above still have nothing in there kennels
  22. I personally probably wouldn’t but it would depend on the circumstances. To many lads try them once and get rid instead of giving them a few runs after all you have them for a year and a half what difference will an extra month make. If it works out all well and good if it doesn’t it’s only a bit of feeding. To many just to quick to pull the trigger
  23. Thank good I’ve a 4or 5 mates that all look out for each other we might only get out 2-3 times a season together because of distance but they look after me with dogs and I try do the same
