  4. theyre's a bloke on ebay makes bread to order...you can have any flour you like, salted or unsalted, and you can even haggle on the price,he calls himself derek some thing think his surname is warberton.just use your LOAF when buying of the net you dont want to get SLICED up and end up looking like a DOUGH boy paul
  5. hi with a 1-8 twist you should be able to shoot 55s to 80s easy and accurately...if you are resting on a fixted surface then i would say that is your problem but you are on a bipod so should be know problem have you checked the stock fixings for security if every thing is tight and how it should be then look at your scope there could be a problem with it...lastly and i mean this in the best possible way it could be YOU set up right a .22lr will shoot 1" at 100 yrds as my CZ 452 does when you have eliminated every thng on your gun the only problem can be the organic bit behind the trigger... so
  6. hi mate agree with the GRIFF ask for both and tell him/her you would like the .22lr and the .17 HMR for close and distance small vermin control...once you are familiar with your rifles you can use the .17 HMR for fox but not if the fox is hundreds of yards away you can cleanly kill fox with the HMR upto 50 yrds easy with the head shot...BUT DO NOT TRY AND SHOT THEM IF YOU ARE NOT CONFIDENT. paul
  7. fully agree even if i only fire 1 round when i get home leave to stand so it comes back to room temp then i clean it dont forget powder residue has moisture in it and as we all know dampness causes rust...so i clean mine every time i use it and that does not mater whether it is R/F or C/F and yes bore snakes are good but so is any good cleaning kit but a bore snake does not put a clean patch through your gun does it.the one thing i never do though and that is put the gun away with the mod back on it mods get hot and can hold moisture and that moisture can and does run back into the barrel and
  8. its not just the barrels you want to clean...if you shoot an ejector shot gun dont forget the moving parts like the extractors they can gum up after a while and stop ejecting the spent cases... on most you can push the ejector in slightly and pull out the ejector pin and then you can get the spring and ejector bar out clean and lightly oil then refit...and you can take the stock of by undueing the rear bolt then you can get at the side plates if your shotgun has them or you can undue the machine screw and drop the trigger and firering mech out of the bottom of the action... give it a scrub wit
  9. it makes know difference what the calibre is the main thing if you are a hunter is a clean kill, if you use good glass you can see clearly what you are aiming at so a clean kill then is a gaurantee, it is also very unlikely you will shoot out the barrel of a HMR yes it uses a bit more powder than a .22lr but the round is jacketed with a plastic tip me and a friend bought HMRs at the same time we must have put about 10,000 rnds each through ours (CZ 452s) and still shoot 1/2" at over 100 yrds so dont listern to any one who talks about a shot out barrel on an HMR it B-LL-CKS. paul

  17. Help me understand this, it's a HMR, so anything that works out to 150 yards will be fine. What is all this BULL I keep hearing about needing quality glass for night work, you simply need a half decent lamping kit! what can i say you must know better than every body else...all i can say to you is when i started shooting nearly 40 years ago now...and yes i have not managed to gain any experience apart from one thing i found...i found that with a 100 quid scope i could see loads during the day...when it came to going out when the big light in the sky went down i found even with
  18. as above and when you are out in the sun with it...it will go like a jelly i had a 700 sps varmint and it was a bag of crap which is why i no longer have it. paul

  20. well i think thats put a cat among the pigeons...from 1977 joined the army ended up in the 22nd bat royal marines left in 1989 since then been working for the same boss on the farm outside most days love it...but would say i dont moan about paying for people on benefits it aint worth it but only a very small amount of tax and national insurance goes to keeping people on the benefit they are on...also the goverment cut 50,000 jobs in the services yesterday were are these people all going to go...government figures say that 65% of buisneses are not employing people...27% of buisneses are clossin
  21. Bang one. Don't forget that half those false claimers are workshy layabouts lurking with big badly socialised status dogs (giving other dogs and dog-owners a bad name). My mate's wife is from Canada and she thought we were joking about all the benefits on offer in this country. Bring back national service: A year in the forces, or a year at the local council/government offices. Why not? that wont work yesterday the conlibs killed of 50,000 from the services navy army airforce. paul
  22. most people respect a badge everyone respects a gun.
  23. the nanny state hit ralling aswell but the big problem was not the power output or speed of the cars is was because of the spectators...they were aloud to get close to the roads and tracks that these full bore rockets raced on...not enough marshalls and so health and safety come and pocked their nose in and the result is nothing more than 300 BHP but if you want to see these boys in action go to the Haynes site and you can find DVD's of all the group B monsters. paul
  24. Hi Rob it has a 7.5mm exit hole and in the paperwork it say's this mod is good for upto .308/7.62...i had it on a sako 85 but i sold the rifle it was a .243 my daughter used the .243 but she did not like the recoil so she is sticking to the HMR hope this helps if you want any more info just ask...but 3 other people on here have made a genuine inquiry. paul
