  1. Villages for miles around are missing their idiots............
  2. I've kept a kennel of working dogs (various breeds) since I was 11yrs old. I've always been allergic to them (itching, sneezing etc.) if I spend to much time close to them, ie, petting, clipping, brushing them, when I clean the kennels out etc. Or if I bring one or two inside for awhile. I work around it and shower after I've been out with them.

    Decca Heggie

Been watching some you tube vid's on Decca, seems handy / durable. What's the scoop on him? Any fights coming up? How would he match up against the yank, Gunn?
  4. hi mate, we are in a place called Chestermere, on the out skirts of Calgary, and about an hours drive from the Rockies, tilly I'm six hours north of you near Slave Lake. If your ever up this way or fancy a days quadding in the bush, let me know. We have some of the best hunting and fishing in the world. Good luck with your journey. hi mate, that's jolly decent of you and if i do get to go up that way i will look you up, where are you at? tilly. Near Slave Lake, about 6 hours north of you. 6. Ian, were did "Stretch" come from?
  7. Hi Ian, Bear and Cat numbers are definitely up...........I think cat numbers are about to crash as the deer population is definitely down. I've just finished deer and moose season (3 deer 1 moose) I have an elk draw for early December round the spirit river area (don't know if you know that area?) but have a lot of meat laid away already so don't know if I'll bother. Cat season is open now, so I'm going to be running them as often as I can................I have a young Airedale and a young hound that needs a solid cat season behind them. There are three streams within a quad ride that
  8. Numbers are up, and I am hunting more.
  9. The above was posted on "The Traditional Airedale" board. I wanted to start a new topic but it ended up here........................I'm not the most computer savvy........... Hope some one enjoys it.
  10. I thought it was probably about time I wrote something for the board, rather than just lurk for the most part so here goes! First a little background............... I live in an area filled with just about every critter God created.........wolf,cougar,lynx,moose,deer,black bear and the occasional grizzly just to name a few. I also live within 5kl of the local regional landfill. I consider this to be one huge bait pile! lol. I currently feed three walker hounds (Luke,Larry and Belle) three beagles (Poacher, Dan and Fatso) and two Airedales(Lexi and Blackjack). I contract to
  11. The good ones do................
  12. Would really depend on the dog its self and the way you entered it.........best draw dog I ever had was a lurcher. Think of a 60lb Lakeland.............some will work out, some will be crap.......
  13. I haven't needed to cull one yet, but I have access to the best blood in the world.
  14. I start my Airedales as pups running with my beagles. When they show me that they are keen to hunt I progress them onto bigger stuff................ My Jack dog started running bear at about 18 month. I surrounded him with experienced dogs, in the hope that he wouldn't get into any trouble. Then little by little ran him with less dogs until he was running with one hound and getting a lot closer to the action......... As for temperament, they are a terrier, so you have to watch them around other dogs, until they are thru the "teenage years" lol............I don't put up with any dog aggressio
  15. Hello Ian, Its Paul...............from up north. Remember that Lakeland (Stretch) that wouldn't start? lol Well that little shit eventually turned on, went missing twice.........once for 3 days and once for 10 days...........made an ok bear dog for a friend of mine. lol I heard you had been ill? Hope your ok now/
  16. So if you run the same dogs in the same country, what stops them from turning to cats (out of season) whilst hunting bear? Or do they...& you just leave them when treed.....just interested to know how you hunt A lot of the bears I turn out on are sight chased.......some have just hit the bush............easy to find. Others are ran into while quadding / grayling fishing in the back country. These aren't hunted, just my dogs protecting me......I take a couple of dogs every time I hit the bush................except Deer and Moose season (now). I leave everything in the tree..........
  17. Some one has to sell pups........... I just don't like bullshit............. Tell it straight, no miss direction. Good luck with your Airedale and any future pups.
  18. I don't have many pictures (just at tree and tailgate stuff) only what others have taken of my dogs. I work / hunt mainly on my own and when its busy....its busy lol. Plenty of accounts................this summer / fall was the busiest season I've had on Bear. My dogs ran / treed 20 + bear. Cat season doesn't start until Dec 1st for me. I don't see any easy way to add pics, if you send me a msg with your email, I'll send you a couple...............like I say, there not up to much...........guess I need to get some good ones.......make the puppy sales easier! lol
  19. Ok, I've read enough of the b/s and miss direction..............time for the truth! Funny how these posts always include............."Pups may be available soon" Penny, the last time you were on here claiming your gyp was "game" you were at the same time (same day) on the Traditional Airedale board, asking if an Airedale can be game.................lol. You got your answer then "NO". You may be well intentioned (the jury is still out), but you are definitely a bullshitter...........enough with the "private video" and the "I know something you don't" attitude. First my credential
  20. Weasle: come and see my game one Skycat, why do you think your female is game? how do you define gameness?
  21. Yes, it is quite easy....... Get yourself an e.collar (I like Tri-Tronics myself)do some basic training so that the hound knows what is required of it, then set the hound up on a deer chase. Give said hound a good shock and a scolding, do this as often as needed to break your hound. I have as many deer in my area as anybody, lot's of Mule and a huge population of Whitetail as well as Moose and Elk. I make sure all of my hounds are broke to all game except hare, otherwise I would be chasing hounds all over the country and never doing any hunting...........hope this helps.
  22. Yeah.......the farm thing won't work.....the nearest one to me is 2 1/2 hrs away...... But I do have as much deer and moose as I need (very lean meat though) I guess I need to increase the fat content in the food.
