  1. What's made you decide on a plummer for bushing over say a spaniel/hound cross or whatever stabba? And what about the dog getting to ground whilst bushing? The terriers wont come off the lead will we're at an earth round here, only when on ground i know well and even than ive had a few accidents Genuine question not being funny! Good luck in finding what your after mate Why? Because there'll be every chance i may want to dig to the dog. Not exclusivley but the odd dig now and again. The dog will be used for ratting/bushing(all game) and like i said. Perhaps the odd dig. Plus i like the

  3. im definetly no expert but me and my digging partner have always inbred/linebred and like true saxon i always believed brother/sister was closer than mother/son (if there isnt any relatinon between the sire/dam which produced the son in the mother/son breeding) if that makes sense
  4. 100% agree with what he's said, my dogs/horses are a big part of my life but you cant compare a human life to a f***ing animal imo end of
  5. ive got a 4 month old 3/8 5/8th wheaten x pup now, ill let yous know if its any good end of next season
  6. Ohh god not the photo evidence card again! im sure alot of you lads have more experience than me (as WM made clear to me in the past!) lol but to be honest it all depends on personal prefrence and the sort of hunting and the types of land you hunt which dogs suits you best. Ive seen terriers bushing to guns/lurchers and done a cracking job, travelling through cover faster than larger dogs due to there size, but personally i couldnt keep a terrier for bushing cause if they go to ground in some of the places round me your pretty much f****d! I have a spaniel for just the odd but of bushing and
  7. Ive tried a good few different boots too mate, i like the chainsaw boots to dig in but way to heavy for me to do any walking! Ive had danner boots last couple seasons and to be honest they aint much lighter! Think ill probably go for lowa or meindl for next season
  8. Spot on mate well said! But breeding to closely for to many generations and imo will end up with pups that are lacking something in the brain department but as said plenty of work will calm most dogs down!
  9. listen to his advice if you want dead pups! Do you Think if Pups are Up for "KILLING" each other at 7weeks you want to be KEEPING that attribute in ANY dog Just a Nightmare to kennel and have round other dogs down the Line...I.M.O. .. sometimes! but HAVE to kennel separately anyway! Had a smart Black ,won one of the Biggest shows in U.K.,as a pup ,but as a pup a litter mate took a hold of his Face, before I could intervene,Blood was up........Any dog from that Day on ,went with in neck reach,BANG ! If Old Cyril Tyson was still around ,would vouch for that Anyhow Dog neve
  10. Are your pups very closely line bred by any chance mate?

  12. Had the same with a litter i had last year, you'll have to seperate them or get rid asap if they're anything like me were!
  13. I've had dogs start late (2 is fairly late imo) and gone on to be good honest dogs and are still working now, but these were pups i had off mates which i already knew are later starters than my own! If a pup off my own dogs/digging partners line aren't started by 18 months they will be gone as i know the line and know they have been early starters for over 20 years and anything that doesnt show interest early on will not amount to anything! I have no problem at all with giving a pup time if they are known to be late starters but id rather stick to my own dogs which are rearing to go from 10 mo
  14. Out of curiosity where on earth do you get a good black dog for a fraction of the price find it near impossible to get a well bred pup I have been lucky and never had to buy dogs, but if i wanted one of these German dogs I would not consider 800 to much money. If good black dogs are that plentiful(they are not)why are people looking for working dogs on here all the time? There is a lot more shit black dogs than good ones.If I wanted an outcross i would have no hesitation putting a good Jadg into a line of blacks or Lakeland. Lakieman, same as liam i have never had to buy a terrier and hop

  16. if you have decent dogs about you already, why pay £650 for a pup? and i'm sure most lads have mates with dogs they have seen work and know they are well proven to breed/have a pup off? i just dont see they point to be honest!
  17. why people are scared to try something they know little about? its cost's a bomb and is definetly not guaranteed to work any better than what i have now no matter what you think! i work hard for my money and am not about to start throwing it about on the offchance of getting a decent dog! if you want to do that, you choice! i never have bought a terrier and doubt i ever will as i have mates with dogs that work hard and are tested all season, and have seen with my own eyes work! i have nothing against you trying something new, just i dont see the point if you have decent dogs about you already.

  19. ive read abit about them, still cant understand why! so please enlighten me kass? do they work reliably to a higher standard than a good example off working stock of any other terrier breed?
  20. Thats mabey cuz your not serious into working terriers ,,, why's that kass? what makes jadgs any better than a good tested line of any other breed we already have in this country and makes them worth the money? can you guarantee they will work and work to a better standard than what we already have?
  21. cant understand why ANYBODY who is serious into working there terriers would pay 800 for a jadg when they could get a good black dog in this country for a fraction of the price! the only possible reason is to breed and make £££££££
  22. my mate usually jabs mine, but vet done my new pup 8 weeks and 10 weeks
