    try a different trap. or you might be able to get the existing trigger more slippy. try setting it with a small piece of plastic bag pinched flat between the treadle hook and the dog so there is less friction.

    i am interested in the behavour of the animals around the traps. I believe the american trapper, Clint Locklear, did a night trapping dvd on coyotes, coons, cats etc which pioneered improved trapping sets. "Teachers of the night."
