  1. If you need to breed from her in the future, then do so with another beddy whippet, whippet or a whippet/greyhound etc for some decent rabbitting dogs.Like someone else stated you`d be better off getting another pup now to specialize in other areas in the future.
  2. Nice one mate. How much GSD is in him?
  3. You`re asking for trouble letting an untrained dog like that off the lead.Get your mate to train him the basic obedience commands first mate.
  4. I think he wants you to pay for them for him.
  5. You`re right there could be 100`s of causes of their deaths but the fact only his jills have died led me to offer some help/suggestions(which the bloke was asking for).
  6. and this is how the rumours start about jills dying if not mated, people making assumtions I was trying to help the bloke and rule out a few things that may have caused the deaths.Have you got any advice he may benefit from?
  7. You should have given them a vasectomised hob to take them out of season.Jills will remain in season untill served and will produce too mucch oestrogen which will kill them.I would say this is probably what`s happened to yours.Have they been mated to a vasectomised hob or had kits this year?
  8. Nice one.I rehomed a lurcher years ago and it turned out to be a cracking worker. All the best
  9. We`ll see .Soon THL will be full of women dancing with their collie cross` to rock n roll music.
  10. i doubt it cos she/he is an animal luurrver lol That`s why I asked ,after all this is a hunting forum not a pet at play forum.
  11. Has he killed much animal lover?
  12. Out of interest, how much did you pay for the dog?
  13. I wouldn`t over complecate bringing on a pup.Train it from a pup to retreive and come back on command.Whilst out in the field a pup should be encouraged to chase. This will develop it`s prey drive.I`ve seen a lot of good quality dogs ruined by being over trained and ruining their prey drive.
  14. Your dog`s not hunting if he`s in your own garden and a fox comes there and your dog kills it.But if you were seen to let your dog out of the house onto a fox deliberately, you would be in the sh-t.Your better off keeping your dog kenneled out near your chickens.
  15. There are too many bellends in the dog game in the UK.They are to blame for the abundance of poor quality lurchers about.I bet you all know of some twat that sold on a jacker to be bred from???We could have better dogs here than anywhere else, but we aren`t clinical in our breeding programme and are too soft when culling is required and allow poor quality workers to be passed on when they should have been terminated or neutured.
  16. Any photos of the dam and sire? Not many good working wheatens about now.Hope she does well for you.
  17. Antonio Nores Martinez who developed one of the best big game hunting dogs the world has ever seen(The Dogo Argentino)used boxers in his breeding programme.
  18. Nice dogs you have. How`s the German shepherd x greyhound getting on work wise?If they`re bred from good shepherd lines they can be awesome dogs.
  19. Red`s a good one to get you closer when the conditions are not ideal.
  20. Your family comes first.Your dog should fit into your lifestyle. In your case this won`t happen if you keep the dog.I`ve been there myself and it hurts at the time but in a couple of months you`ll know it was the right decision.
  21. Get him to sit when people approach him.
  22. Sorry to hear your bad news.If the break`s as bad as that and the vet is sure he`ll never work again then I`d put him to sleep if I was in your situation. The dog is a working dog that loves to work and would be gutted sitting in his kennel disabled and unable to work etc.
