Yeah, skints me out, but I don't get in debt ?
-
Yeah, some of these coursing breds are huge things, especially those irish park dogs. No, not too many people prepared to take on a well bred grey pup and rear and use it as a lurcher. I hope it works out for you ?
-
Never really watched a great deal of it, til the last couple of years really. But both my lads love watching it, especially my youngest. Is that sent with malice, or christmas cheer, you c**t?! ?
-
Well this thread is 'morphing' into something a few of us are actually agreeing on! Lol, must be the christmas spirit lol
-
Yep, the size difference can be quite surprising now. Most racing dogs will be around 70 - 75 lb give or take a couple of pound, bitches about 10 ish lb lighter, in general. Some big dogs racing, but not that many.
-
Can't disagree with that. Those guys do f**k all except train
-
Yeah, there's little to no difference really. Modern greyhound racing in uk started in the 1920's, 1926 I think. And all greyhounds can be traced back to the earlier coursing dogs. Most early litters would have some pups destined for the track, some for coursing, some pups would've been dual purpose, race in summer, course in winter. I think It's only since the 60's - 70's really that we've had greyhounds 'specifically' race bred. That's as far as I can remember anyway. Perhaps a certain 'expert' from the fury thread in the general talk section may comment on this, to put me right ? ....
-
LMFAO ?!!! I'm f***ing crying here mate ffs!!! ?
-
A bit like all the friendly banter on the tyson fury thread. Yes, I can see where you're coming from. ...................?. Yep, can't beat christmas dinner ?. Too many nieces and nephews in my family ?, skints me right out every year! Lol
-
See, my experiences with collie x's have been the same. Every lurcher, as opposed to longdog, that I've owned never did either, at least I can't remember it. I've seen a few doing it over the years, but none of them were straight collie x's ?
-
That an old pic of maddie phil?
-
Did you ever have any issues with her stalking rabbits/game mate?
-
Good point that about the overheating. My lad's old lurcher was the same, sire was beardie/grey x border/beardie/grey, dam was pure greyhound. He had the thickest coat and skin I've personally seen on a lurcher, had to make sure temps were below about 8 degrees practically every time he took him lamping. Could see see him wilting pretty quickly after a few runs sometimes, and then take a bit of a break so he could recover. Was a very fit dog, so it was nothing to do with fitness levels. I don't think a running dog needs that sort of weather protecting coat these days

And I'm still laughing at your clueless analogy as to his weight and condition. Wilder at 6' 7" weighed in at 212 lb, 15 stone 2, not big, but in really good shape. Fury at 6' 9" weighed in at 256 lb, 18 stone 2, very untoned, looked as though he could've shifted another couple of stone no problem, and you reckon he couldn't ever get in the ring again under 17 odd stone!! You are as clueless about bodyweight and training as you are with your MASSIVE 'overestimation' of fury!! Oh dear oh dear, you've got it bad ? Oops, how remiss of me, I forgot we're being civilised ......... ? lol.
-
And you KNOW what I was getting at re hearns and fury, and it's called 'reading between the lines'. Power to weight etc. But you won't see ANYONE else's point of view on fury, so as someone else has already said, it's a bit pointless giving an 'opinion' on him
-
The c**t hasn't got a joke in him, apart from his boxing FACTS
-
Good points there again, especially re stupid commands AND owners, which in my opinion is the main reason for the rise in popularity of ................. THE BULL CROSS!!! .............. ?. Don't hate me you bull x owners, just saying they are 'easier' to deal with than collie crosses ? ?
-
Good post that, crackhead looking for shelter lol ?
-
Just to throw a spanner in the works ?, the best collie x lurcher for guarding I owned, at home, and would let me know what/who was about when out, was a lovely red merle 1st x border/grey bitch, not from hancocks, accidentally killed in 1984
-
Correct sir lol ?. Right, I'm off to look at a litter of greyhound pups, but ffs DON'T tell max! I'll probably pick the worst pup out the litter, cos I don't know what I'm looking at! Lol
-
Pretty much spot on with both these posts newkid, again, and basically just what I've been saying, ............. SEVERAL TIMES lol ?
-
Max, you couldn't bully me if you had half the intelligence to do it! Lol. And I'm pretty certain that plenty of others besides myself, can clearly see through your bullshit. Now, go and get some proper porn mags to wank over, and throw those tyson fury posters away ?
-
Power to weight ratio you f***ing egotistical, know it all, big headed clown. Hearns carried his power from welter to cruiserweight, and would've knocked fury out within a couple of rounds. 'Big' 6' 9" 18 stone fury, only punches about as hard as most 'good' light heavyweights of about 5 1/2 stone lighter! Not a fury, wilder, or joshua hater or fan, can just see things for what they are. You clearly can't. This is definitely my last post on this, but it won't be yours as you just can't let it go. He aint 'the best' since ali by far, deal with it ?

Dog I had about 1988 by taffy was like that mate, along with several other weird behaviour issues, didn't try to bite me though. A few fellas I know had a few from him as well, and other beardie and border/beardie/greys, 1/2 and 3/4 breds. The only good thing they all had going for them, was the fact they all became useful catch dogs, with tough constitutions, but some were only edible game dogs. And I know the main point in owning a working lurcher is the fact that they work, but you couldn't live with the c**ts. And whilst I agree that you've got to have a certain mindset to get the 'best'
