    Never said it doesn't happen but when it had that injury your were at a 50/50 stage whether to PTS or continue and hope for the best. Your gamble paid off for you..... Ethyl.....wind yer neck in will ye. Theres no macho shit here, the lad decided to PTS his dog after it broke it leg and thats that. I work gundogs so if one of them broke there leg then i'd have to make the decision whether that would hinder there working capablities. Sometimes it would and sometimes it wouldn't.

    Yeh stab it happened a mile up the road from where I live........I know a few of the young lads involved too,they'll not be welcomed round here anymore. A lad who lives down the road is the victim's mate and he told me.The sexual assualt was refering to him having sticks inserted into him. What sort of size of village are we talking here mate?     what does that mean ? That means that some folk think of there dogs as pets and will keep them with 4 broken legs. Others think of there dogs as workers and since its a running dog then potentially theres a high risk of the dog not working again. IMO

    I really dont get these kind of posts. Its not playground stuff at all. The facts are the OP asked a question that has alot of answers, after 8 pages i'm not still 100% that its illegal or not? But i am 100% sure that the moral issues out weigh the legal ones. So do you agree with the OP then about keeping wild rabbits captive and shooting them whenever he feels like it. If thats the case why doesn't he buy a hutch and put them in there and then wring there necks?     not old mate :S Sparrowhawk then............. ya know what we got buzzards here, badgers, foxes, rats, weasles, kestrels and barn owls and a whole lotta rooks and mags but i never seen no sparrahawk :/ Could just be a buzzard then. Maybe its a young one. If i have ever found or heard of any birds(usually pigeons) half eaten and still alive its usually a sparrow hawk involved. Keep your eyes peeled, to be fair there are lots of them but there not a bird you see often.....
