    Aye and I have a bitch here that has large litters but cannot handle them no mater what but reduce that to 5/6 and she does well and so do the pups to me it is all about recognising the fact that she was struggling and acting on it Then why he hell line the bitch if she can't handle them? Cheers. Because she is an excellent bitch with lots of traits that I find desirable and is ideal for continuing the line and with due respect till she had been lined how would you know if she could handle them or not??     NO I didn't say you dont' know how to rear a good pup but if you only rear for your self why bring off a litter so large? I have to replace at least 4-5 dogs every year to maintain the 3 of us at a consistent level meaning I need to have at least 1 litter a year I will not let the line be f****d by anyone so will not let anyone other than close family and a couple of select keeper mates take one so why keep big litters to me it is far better for the dam and pups to cull down to what we need replaced and no more.Please note these are spaniels and not lurchers (I buy lurchers in) but to be h

    You say simple and i suppose to some people it is. Doesnt make up for the fact that possibly you could be culling one of the best pups.

    Before pointing the finger at shooters go and have a search for the the thread where quite a few 'dog men' were happy to throw hares in the ditch after they run them...!! and did they or did they not get a hammering on here from the real real dogmen condoning what they do? people from all walks of life? dont you get shooters who shoot and leave where they shot? yes!! seen it before! they say shooting is the most humane way to dispach, correct if they get a kill shot, what if they just wound or maime? with a dog it either gets it or it doesnt no wounding and getting away. but at the end
