Don't have many magpies in this area but plenty crows. Caught many in the Larsen but I never kept the call bird more than a week. Oh and I never let the egg/ chick eating swine go either... Lol :laugh: Id kind of got attached to him after haveing him so long. He was an excellent call bird, and if i put another magpie in with it, it was dead in hour's. I just want him back in my trap and il be happy Marty. Do you have multiple birds in the same section mate.... If so, why?Why ask such a question.? Over the years ive often observed from a distance people who will eat in a posh restaurant dressed up to the nines,talking down to staff,engaging in " look how well im doing " conversations so anyone in earshot can be so impressed,picking holes in everything........................then leave and get into their crappy Ford Mondeo leaving everyone in the restaurant whispering about what a shower of c**ts they were. Much does that cost per month Mark??? I'm £35 a month for two lurchers and a terrier, had 3 claims plus this one,£380, £390 & £750 plus this one @ £644, the premium may/probably will rise but even so it's worth it in the long run, Who you insured with? My preferred method is enter hand into trap, catch bird in quick time as not to prolong any pain or needless suffering, take bird in right hand clasping wings securely to body and WHALLOP right aff the side of the cage.

Had some nice walks from Leslie to Lomond HillsThats another great walk, on a nice day. Was up there the other week when we had a few days of good weather. Scot....there's one place he won't be visiting and that'll be Falkirk!! Why would you...? Lol

As been said the key is moving it. You can catch regular then it just stops. You see birds around the cage, on it, on trees round it but they won't go in. Move it a short distance and there in that day.

Right am sticking up for fife now... Lol Lots of lovely places to visit, great stretches of beach along the coast at St Andrews as well as extensive forestry walks. Not so much hill but if you've done that further north then it would be a nice change.

When i had them in smaller pens i had 1 cock to 9 hens. It was a good ratio getting 8/9 eggs a day and good fertility. Your cock birds will be fine altogether. Well i say fine they will try everything to die.....but thats pheasants for you...
