    hi to every one im new to the whole hunting scene i recently got a lurcher 8 months ago and have started working her unfortuntly not caught anything yet but we getting close. im having bother getting her to jump over fences or gates or anything thats taller than she is, so if anybody got any tips on how to gat her to jump i'd be greatful. thanks hi and welcome hold your lurcher back till it s around 12 month reason is its bones and muscules are not mature yet just concatrate long walk retriveing ,recall, sit, stay and heel if she keep missing rabbits there is a big possabilty it will start

    i think if your out all day a dog should be in a kennel and run , when you get back then let the dog indoors ,good for bounding, how would you like to not be able to go for the toilet when you wanted IMO working dog should say out side

    hello everyone i may have done this arse about tit by posting first sorry i was introduced to this site by my son and a good like minded neighbour, my main intrest are terriers BORDERS or border x patterdale i love ratting, traping grey squaral,mink and moles and helping my youngest son of twelve with his ninteen month lurcher and ferrets he is a natual as i was taught the trade by my old man, many thanks to the hunnting life Darren

    i use the armour thats underneath the plastic on that protects copper cable straighen it out make a loop on one side, tie a little bit of red an white bunting tape on the loop if im near the road ill use stick out of the hedge tie a bit of sheeps wool to it hope this helps jimmy boy

    first of all you you need some good tools at least 2 good spades with good strong shanks you dont want one to snap on you half why into the dig a graffter(draining shovel), pickaxe,big hervy bar the ones wid a point one end and chissle on tuther and a slasher to cut root in the dig and clearing scrub from were you want to dig i have a chainsaw in the jeep just in case you carry these tool in your car all the time you get to know what tool you ll need to take across the field wid you and its no big deal for someone to nip back to the car for more gear then you need a locator and nets when you a

    slow berries pick them get a demmy jar prick the slows with a fork half fill the jar wid slows add three quarter of a kelo bag of sugar then fill it up wid gin just cheap stuff tescos own, a little bit of almond essents put the stopper in the jar give it a good shacking to desolve the sugar then keep cheaking it and giving it a good shake bottle it off just before xmas and you will have a lovly warm drink for freind on a hunt or at home i dont lick gin but this is lush give it a go brother

    sorry to here about the dog .i think your mate with 40 years experiance was jealous of never owning a dog like your. as you say he is no terrierman, ive seen this kind of jeolousy when i was a boy starting out now the same man walks out of a pub when i walk in cause if he stays he gets a load of abuse about never owning a half desent terrier your time will come same as mine did try not to get yourself down DO NOT PACK IT IN cause if you do you will just find yourself at it somewere down the line and missed out on the bit in betwean keep your head up keep hunting
