Probably the same place everybody gets their 'genuine tested' bull terrier blood from in a large % of bull cross matings - Thin air.. In fairness malt ye right in a way but its easier to find a decent game bull than it is to find a decent bedlington but yes theres some shite bull crosses out there

Exactly most beddy lurchers are bred out of right fecking potlicking bedlingtons, i guess there is some bred out of the right stuff but seen as the working bedlington gene pool is very small it does make me wonder

So ye would recommend his dogs on the basis that ye have seen 1 and that was a 7mth old pup or is it on the basis of what ye have read and seen on here

To be honest never tried tocall a dog of mid-course so have no idea pretty confident any dog i had would not come of as for calling of on quarry no chance i would use a stick on some quarry other quarry leave them with it unless other stuff was coming in,they would come of stuff but depends how long ye wanted to stand around and how much damage was done to the quarry after it was dead breaksticks are far easier and quicker and quieter

I don't really use the internet too much these days. I have not kept up-to-speed with any of the silly arguing and character assasination threads. Terrible that no parents should have to bury there kids my sympathy goes out to them -
I do both and enjoy both about 90% of driving is done on permission or a mates permission puts alot more game infront of ye dogs and those that say its to get closer to game obviously aint ever done it, am sure ye think ye drive 100mph across a field and chuck a dog out the window on quarrys back ive found a poor nights lamping in the truck usualy still beats a great nights lamping on foot but as i say i still enjoy both

Lack of training? Maybe. Maybe we do things differently then you. Look sir, the last thing you want a catch dog doing is letting go of a hog while you're trying to tie it, flip it, or otherwise hold it down. You don't want that dog letting go under any circumstances or you'll likely end up getting cut badly. Everybody I know uses break sticks for their catch dogs. Men that have been in this game their whole lives and are far older than me use break sticks. I learn from from the. Guess we aren't proper dog men. But we do catch hogs. I wouldnt pay attention fella it will be just whin talking

Listen fella ye dont run the same type of quarry as some and ye dont keep the same type of dogs, i find it hard to understand how ye can make some of your comments when ye are supposed to be a sensible type well on here anyway, theres alot on here talk the talk but dont walk the walk sounds like your talking about yourself there feller lol :laugh: Shut it ye :laugh:

I may be doing it completely wrong Hedz, but how about your dog catches, prey is on the gound, quickly straddle prey (cos that's what i do) get dog to leave stab prey in heart? Happens as quickly as it took me to type it. As quickly as that is it ive stuck deer sweetheart in the heart and watched them get up on occasion and run abit more or thrash at least another good few mins cut the throat as well it is much quicker but not as quick as i typed this it takes a little longer

If your dog had the mineral's and knew what it was doing you would not be able to slit anything's throat because the dog would be firmly clamped to it.. Agree on this one. artic ive been out with ye pre-ban seen dogs on quarry now did that dog let go and did it not go on for 5 to 10 mins as we didnt have a break stick and the animals throat was cut it was also noisey and thrashing it can be done quicker and quieter Fecking hell L, it was a long time ago....2003 I think.
