  1. His is collie x grey/whippet x grey. Looking at those pics yours is a bit heavier set. His is about 5 now.
  2. Spot on that gaz. Nothing better than mooching worth the dogs watching them enjoy themselves running free. Especially when you can be out early at dawn or late at dusk when all the fat lab walkers have gone home. How is the red dog bred? My brothers got a dog that looks very similar
  3. Very good, really enjoyed reading that. I must ask, what motivated you to write it?
  4. Good on you for DL for giving the dog a chance a lot I know wouldn't. Good luck with the recovery wound looms to be healing well. I bet he'll still have some fun come September.
  5. Here's a few of my pup, only a dash of collie on dams side as well as greyhound/whippet/and splash of beddy/deer hound. Sire is a whippet. He is 21" at just under 5 months. Has definitely taken more to dams side
  6. He's a lovely looking dog. Sounds like the breeding is all there and you'll be putting plenty of rabbits in front of him come next season. Hope he meets expectations for you. Atb Alex
  7. Why? Lol Why?? Because I would like to know if anyone knows if anyone else is making decent collars.
  8. I've been contemplating one of these for my young lurcher when he is a bit old and I know what sort of size he'll make. Can anyone advise of any alternate craftsman who make working dogs collars?
  9. hope all goes well with the operation GD
  10. i cant, remember exact time scales but i started him back just letting him run on flat open ground and throwing a ball for him to get him used to striking and picking things up and did this until his coordination had adjusted. i slowly entered him back lamping on as open ground as i could and again slowly started introducing him to bushing again around cover and ferreting etc. now he does what he does before including woodland ferreting.
  11. feel for you GD, my eldest whippet lost the site in his right eye from a blackthorn, he kept the eye but it is good for nothing. Although, it will no doubt hinder him in the field they do adapt suprisingly well. my dog still catches well (not as good as before albeit but still pretty good). As has been said it is frustrating when they put in a good run then get blind sided by their quarry but he will adapt as will you in the way you work him. my advice would be to rest him well and then get the most you can out of him and when your out with your mates tell them his catches count for double! ;-
  12. if this is the alex from lancashire (i met you once if it is the same alex but you were very very drunk at Fleet) then i would expect taffy to change his or her mind because if i am right correc me if i am wrong but isnt it fathered by Darrens dog lol that was me mate. you won't be surprised that i probably don't remember you! yes Dex is sired by darrens sonny. why would that chamge taffy's opinion?!
  13. just post the link codes underneath each other
  14. photos taken by my mate, he has taken some belters over this season.
  15. yes both are ped whippets black one is 2 1/2 and white/brindle is 1 1/2.
  16. cheers folks. the white/brindle is a ped whippet steve
  17. cheers troter. photo's not taken by me my mate took em. he does take a good photo
  18. Here are some pics from this season so far. has a bad start to the season with Dex loosing the sight in his right eye after being impaled by a black thorn. Amazingly he has adapted well and has had a good season so far. This has been Morgan's first season, he has come on well and I'm pleased with his progress so far and I'm confident there is further room for improvement in him. I got poppy, who I use for bushing at the end of last season and I've enjoyed walks out with her and the whippets. it definitely brings more action to my walks with the dogs. any here are some photos from this sea
  19. i don't like big dogs as a rule, im into my whippets as some may know. but ive got to say this dog has really caught my eye. excellent condition too a credit to you mate. how old is it?

  21. just out of interest where would you stand legally if you took a greyhound bitch abroad and lined in with a banned breed?
  22. aussie used to be the dogs bollox but they changed their formula about 18 months ago i think and it went diwnhill imo. i find gain 28 very good but like has been said its not for bulking and when it gets to winter i think ill be adding lamb breast to their diet. also, aussie contains creatine and as most will know creatine needs a loading and maintainance phase followed by a phase without use. if its included in the food you are unable to do this. a few greyhound lads have told me that they found that their dogs ran very well but after a 3-4 months they crashed and they put this down to the cr
