  2. Born Hunter will be along eventually and yep you guessed it he is a physicist He started doing the equations to work out how much lead my pheasants would need last time he was here within 30 seconds I was baffled
  3. I always deal with the Dorset store but they have 3 one at Exeter one at Newport (used to be Litts) one in Dorset

  5. That's a bit too much there fella having a pop if you don't like his posts is one thing but bringing family into it ain't right
  6. I am surprised you find the sportsman expensive I have dealt with them for many years having a works account with them and have always found they are ready to do a "deal" that said buying over 35000 cartridges a year and all the other stuff we buy probably helps
  7. Also, if it's any help, that 'extended stock' of Dan's is fooking massive so if that's under 1300mm every other gun in the country will be! Lol just bought a lovely 28 bore that's away for the stock treatment having long arms is a bloody nightmare
  8. And just which CF will give you 2000ft lbs down range that any force will grant a first time or for that any fac holder just for fox? .223. (Hornady super performance 40gr has over 2,300ft lbs @ 300 yds.) Bollocks a 25-06 firing a 85 gr ballistic tip at 3600 fps only makes 2500 ft lbs at the muzzle hornadys own reloading manual gives a 40gr .223 travelling at 4300fps as only having 1642 ft lbs at muzzle and at 300 yds this has fallen to 633ft lbs I should like too see any .223 that can make 4300fps that's 220 swift territory and even then it wont make 2300ft lbs at the muzzle.
  9. If they are on a public highway when taking said photos/video, they are perfectly within their rights to film what they want (apart from gov't spooks, extra-sensitive security installations etc.), even if what they are filming is on private land, i.e. photographing a hunt riding on private land whilst stood on a public footpath etc. If they are on private land, the landowner is able to ask them to leave, but cannot force them to delete any images/footage, or to show them what they have been already taken. Taking the camera and deleting anything on it is criminal damage (and probably assault &
  10. trespass is a civil offence unless damage is done If the intention is to harass or disrupt a lawful activity then the charges of aggravated trespass and disrupting a lawful activity can and should be applied but if all they are doing is trespassing and causing no problems then as you say it is a civil offence that said I am not sure on the laws re taking photo's /video on private land
  11. I can read the general section without logging in
  12. And just which CF will give you 2000ft lbs down range that any force will grant a first time or for that any fac holder just for fox?

  15. Whats the point of having the general section or any other section members only if the anti's want to look they just join aint like it's difficult
  16. The Zeiss is a good scope I used to have meopta 3x12x50 on all my CF before I changed to the swaro's cracking build and optics for the money
  17. I was only joking about the s&b there a cracking scope an 8x56 will serve you well must say I prefer a little more mag but that's personal preference
  18. Not seen your Weatherby mate..... but I'm not questioning the quality of the rifle itself. The ones we looked at in the shop had me convinced. I read up on that RC model though and to my mind there's feck all difference, only really the stock (which is nice). LOL, swarovkis are very nice indeed.......... and very expensive! LOL. Not really looked at fixed mag swaro's mind. The only problem I have with the RC models is that price wise ( assuming you pay retail)it brings them within spitting distance of some very nice stuff like the Tikkas/remingtons all of a sudden the weatherby has so
  19. the rifle with my NV on mate is a standard weatherby vanguard mk2 got a silly deal on it paid not much more than £400 for it brand new shoots factory ammo into 1/2" all day long S&B swarovski
  20. There is no much about though I heard of a nice part time job the other day would have suited RT then get told a keeper who got made redundant with 29 years experience got it
  21. Length of pull is a primary measurement of gun fit. At 6'4" I'm guessing that you need a longer stock. In lengthening the stock you will alter the secondary measurements of drop at heel (unless its a parallel comb) and cast at toe and heel also. It is these dimensions that affect where the gun shoots, yet often overlooked by "proper"stock fitters. The flip side of this is that most people can adapt to a fair degree to a less than perfect stock fit and shoot well with that gun. However, they will not reach the true potential of their ability or the gun. It's what keeps gun shops in business
  22. All the above is absolute nonsense as not one of us can see how you are built or knows of your eye dominance so the answer is go to a gun shop pick out the guns in your price range and see which fits because it matters not how much the gun costs but a poorly fitted gun will never be right.
  23. I got caught in similar circumstances but I was on a public footpath near my vehicle. Gamekeeper collared me till police got there, they took my lamp off me and interviewed me but dropped the charges a day before my court date. Lasted 6 months but I got my lamp back. Point of story is admit feck all Ps they told me I could have my lamp back the day after and I wouldn't be charged with anything?? They 'lied' the gamekeeper has no right to detain you for at the time only guilty of tresspass which is a civil offence. If he made you stay against your will that's borderline kidnap. think you w
