    Just come across this method of band attachment, any one tried it? Could come in handy for changing bands in the field as it looks to be quick and easy with no tools needed.

    They are mostly commons in this pond, fast growing types and a handful of mirrors, two grassies and a couple of koi. He nets it most years and takes out all the small stuff. He reckons theres nothing smaller than 15lb in there. So you can see why its popular. Funny though cos Ive fished it 15 years and cos the new lads dont recognise me they think I`m new to the lake and give me "tips"

    Hey All. Well after getting the bug back I got the rods out for a few hours on Monday, only had two hours twenty minutes and managed a 16.2 common. At 11.01am, one minute after I was sposed to have packed up and be homeward bound to get back for the nipper, I had a fish on! Naughty naughty, but these things happen Problem was, I hooked it reeling in, so I knew it was a foul hooked. And being the only action I`d seen from the whole lake since arriving, I played it ever so gently, feeling like John wilson, 20 sets of eyes watching...     I`d pretend to still feed the ferrets, like you still got one or two left or new ones... Greeting them a little louder than usual. Then leave a large bodygrip set in the nest box lightly covered. You could even attach the chain to a cheap rape alarm so when the culprit does one with the trap on his hand the rape alarm will sound.

    It was one of the club rules in my old club. It was an offence, punishable by a booking to not to show your club ticket and rod license to another member if requested. One too many bookings and they would review your membership for next year, or instant dismissal. There wasnt many done it, only a couple of self righteous old men hiding behind their age and a couple of young guns who thought they were a bit tasty. Usually one of the bailiffs lads.     Was gonna go fish a little free pond for a mixed bag of small stuff, but by the time I would have got some maggots it wouldnt have been worth going so opted for the last swim on a small commercial. Picked my cousin up at 8, was fishing for 8.40. and had the one and only fish at 11.01 just getting ready to leave. A 16.2 common.

    Just got one of my pair online. Fancied a bit in the morning and for what its worth its not worth the arse ache. First trip of the season, cant wait. It`ll be only for a few hours, but I should be able to produce. Wont be able to sleep now.

    Yep she`ll do me mate. I`m happy as with her and the way shes coming on. She seen a few days out with the ferrets and come across a rabbit or two just sat out in the middle of a field. Bit of stock breaking, bit more work on her jumping and retrieving and she should be ready to start come end of summer. No rush for me really as she`s still only 8 month.
