There's a few good camera's on the market that would serve you well, i have Canon's so i can only speak of them but there are a few Nikon shooters on here as well, that i'm sure could give you more info on them, if you didn't want to go into a full DSLR you might like to try a Canon G10 or G11, i have one and its an amazing little camera its about the size of a bigger P&S it has the same lens that the L class lens ( the Rolls Royce of canon lens), you can use it like a P&S or you can turn it completely Manual, it has a 3" screen and i think the G11 has about 15 mp, if you'd rather have

I took this shot in the Autumn of last year

You might be able to take one down when its on the ground running with a APBT but anything smaller or less aggressive would be toast especially if its backed up in a corner, a Patt would be too brave for its size and would probably get shredded, as you can see on those pics they have very LONG claws,, personally there's lots of other game without haveing to go to the Artic circle and get the shit kicked out of my dogs, cos thats what would happen !!!

great pictures pal what hunt are you with?? I hunt the London hounds here in South Western Ontario, its a short season but we have a lot of fun while we can ! -
Hi mate , we have Fisher's here in Ontario, but generally more north than where i live, the main problem of working terriers to them is they tend to make dens up tree's as apposed to on the ground , secondly i believe the season on them wouldn't be conducive to digging unless you like digging or should i say chipping through 4ft of permafrost, also i think they'd make short work of a terrier to be honest! there one of the few animals along with Wolverines that kill and eat Porcupines, no mean feat !!! they really are nasty little F$#@kers,

Do you have any reason not to trust the guy you bought it off ? it looks like what he's telling you it is, sounds like its doing the job so far so good luck -
This is Mick, The pup i kept from my litter, he is the 4th Generation of this breeding, which is now mostly Whippet with some Collie and Greyhound, sire has been a brilliant dog on every quarry you can imagine from rabbits to Raccon , fox, hare, and the bitch is pretty good too !!! big hopes for this little fella

Photoshop the phone lines out and you've got yourself a good shot !! well done -
Genuine , Just a couple of Questions, why did you ask for peoples opinions and then shoot them down when you didn't like what they were saying? it seems to me that you have already made your mind up on this cross, so why bother getting in to arguments about it, if you hadn't made your mind up you wouldn't be so dissmisive of anyone that has anything derogatory to say about them. Anyway my brother has bred Akitas and its true what few lads have stated already they're not the stablist of dogs temperament wise, his bitch was great but a dog pup out of the same bitch was nick named crocodile !!!

I'm with Kay on this one, you just can't do your pictures justice on consumer printers, as well as it works out no cheaper and the results IMO are worse

WELL SAID. ITS PATHETIC HOW EVERYONE ACUSES PEOPLE OF LYING ABOUT THE DEPTH OF THE HOLE. Read the posts again, no1 accused him of lying just misjudgement of depth What difference does it make wether its 28ft or 20ft its still a deep dig and thats what the OP was asking for

Coyotehunter replied to CorsoQueen's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
My apologies FTB.. Your getting me all wrong here as well , what i'm trying to say is for example you have a foxhound, within that name" foxhound" there are several "Types" Modern English , Old English , Fell etc etc , Patterdales , fells , they're all Lakelands, just different strains that change from valley to valley, i'm not saying there all the same i didn't just jump off the Banana Boat !! what i was trying to say is Lakeland is and should be the general name for all those "Types" and thats what they are "Types" unless you have a KC registered Lakeland all the rest should be regarde -

IMO, The village Patterdale is in the lakes right ? therefore Patterdales are lakelands , you call it what you want mate because at the end of the day thats all that matters -
I'm surprised that anyone would post anything on this thread, all you seem to do is slag the shit out of anybody that puts pics on, my mother said if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all, if some-one has taken the time to put pictures on then lay off them, some of you are worse than old housewives
-
The drawback to collars is once you use them you almost certainly have to permanently use them, the hounds know when they have them on and when they don't, another problem i've seen is that when you zap them and they let out a squeak, it draws the rest of the hounds to the hound and to the line of whatever it is that you don't want them to hunt, My opinion on this subject is that its 75% breeding and 25% training, if you expose your hounds to riot early on in there lives in a controlled situation and make abundantly clear that its a no no, it normally works and for those that are just to stu

great pics, love them black&tans Hi Terrier410, they're very different the Pennmarydels , they were bred for the states of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, hence the acronym Pennmarydel, they're very methodical hounds , brilliant noses , tremendous voices, but tend to on the slower side, some people have bred them to be faster but as a whole they're slow accurate hounds, for a lot of people they dwell way too much, but for me they cross well with quicker types of hounds, personally i like around a quarter or an eighth, that way you get the nice voice and good nose but without the dwelli
