  2. Hey Snappy, we didn't do too well on that day but we did better later on in the week when we went offshore, see this thread Sport fishing
  3. I just got back from holiday in Kill Devil Hills, we chartered the " OutRigger" a well known Billfish boat , we set out from the harbour at 5.oo am and at 7.00 we started fishing, we were after any type of Billfish ( Marlin Sailfish swordfish) and Tuna , but the reports were not good for Tuna, seemingly the water was too cold, but we drew straws and i was second up when the time came , which was quite soon, just my luck i hit in on the only Billfish of the day a Sailfish, about 60 to 70lbs , i couldn't take a photo because the 1st mate unhooked him before i could get chance to take a shot, it
  4. I took these last week when i was on holiday down on North Carolina I was on a boat and the day was stormy and dull so they're not the sharpest but i like them all the same
  5. So does the Barryvox and other avalanche locater types work in pipes etc ????
  6. We cut through it with a digging bar, why would we ? because beggars can't be choosers, why would anybody put a dog in a big rock pile ? why would anybody put a dog in 15ft earth ? same reason, this was the situation that presented itself so we delt with it
  7. I had a dig on Monday that opened my eyes up to a serious chink in the Deben LR, we had a coon in a land drain, i collared my old bitch up with new batteries and put her in , when it came to locating her i was getting nothing, luckily the pipe only went back about 9 or 10 feet and then was crumpled so the coon could go back no further so with the aid of a torch we could view the dog and coon and were able to work out where they were and dig in the right spot, i always thought that the newer Deben units worked in such situations, its left me thinking that i should switch to the Bellman and fli

  15. We breed our own pups but we have blood from all over , we've just got a pup from the Toronto & North York hunt that was by Duke of Beaufort Bailey, but was also have some very good American lines through an Irish friend of mine down in Virginia, the american hounds don't look as fancy as the english but work really well in our country, we can have temperature swings of 60 degrees, in August it can be 35 degrees and then 4 months later be -30 degrees so i need hounds that have very good noses, our country is an arable one as well which doesn't help, always being sprayed with something
  16. Hi Stevemac, these are the London Hound's, we hunt mainly Coyote and some fox around Middlesex county near London Ontario, our season starts in August and runs through until the weather becomes too severe, normally around Christmas, we then try and go on road trips down into the warmer states of the US most years for a month or so
