    Let's face facts England could've squashed Ireland like a bug pretty much anytime in the last 500 years, the ruling classes might have been up for it but there's always been to much home grown resistance too it for it to ever happen and that's because when it all boils down to it were pretty much all cut from the same cloth.

    You are British we all are these two big islands and a few smaller ones have been called the British isles since before Ireland England etc were ever conceived and the people on them have hopped from one to the other since the last ice age.

    The best way to defeat this would be to come together to fight it were a divided people we have been for a thousand years if the people of the British isles came together we would be the best place in the whole world turf the political classes out(Norman's) and come together Wales England Scotland Ireland it would be bliss, but sadly it will never happen. I wouldn't be surprised if this what wea are seeing today is the end result of Russian cold war attack to slowly rot our society from the inside prob 60 years in the making. Divide and conquer.

    I've thought the same but we're is there to go? I can only really come up with Russia but since they hate our guts not really what I want from life, I've thought about Ireland or Cornwall but there's no place to get completely away from all the silly bollocks in western Europe, its a bit like getting cancer and having to go stay in hospital to live 6 months or don't bother and have 3 months at home with the family,it's coming to everywere slowly but surely.     If your working on the lines course you stick to the rules re your safety, it's a subject close to the bone for me really I lost a mate to a work accident on the railways bad do. And again I'm not trying to get personal with anyone but trust me from experience if youve got a decent boss help him out and don't bea problem if you've not got a decent boss and not just because you don't like work then learn your job and his while your at it and take your opportunities and take his job and do it better.     Expelled from school then started as a Cleaner worked my way to top of the tree and be all but retired in 12 months before hitting 40 says otherwise through pal all just with a bit of savvy and a can do attitude.

    I do though pal, I've paid taxes since I left school aswell so what.my work ethic definately 100% differs from yours so im not really sure how you can come to that conclusion but no doubt our family values and priorities are pretty much the same.     I pretty much fecked foreign family holidays off after 9/11 just to much of a ballache and expense for what's meant to relaxing, I'm more concerned about UK holidays being more extortionate than they already are.

    I think letting other people to be our kids role models is were it's all gone wrong a sons role model should be his dad and and a girls her mum it's your job to steer them in the right direction and it's what has stood us in good stead since the dawn of time.

    Good stuff pal that river looks interesting. Sounds like your attitude to fishing is similar to mine I reckon I've tried just about every method of fishing for almost every species of UK fish it's the best way to be imo rather than limiting your enjoyment with some strange dogma and you'll be a better angler for the experience to boot.
