    Scopes

Hawke Varmint 3-12X44 on the FX2000 and Simmons Deerfield 3-9X40 on the Longbow. The Deerfield has better optics than the Hawke at night, not bad when you think it is at least twelve years old.........Al :thumbs-up:

    Scopes

Mr Millet, would your scope happen to be the Nighteye Plus by any chance? If so, how do you find it? I'm debating whether I buy this size or the one down from it. Ta very much............Al :thumbs-up:
  8. He's a beut, you must be proud of him........Al :thumbs-up:
  9. Just given one away Al. Nice rifle. Only slightly lighter than the TX (or that's the way it feels) and much easier loading mechanism. Doesn't have the build quality of the TX in my opinion but it's a nice rifle for the field. Cheers Stabs, I'm looking at the 97K, but I also know of a TX200, both are .22 and I am favouring .177 at the moment, so not really sure. I was going to trade in my X2 Sports for an Air Wolf at the weekend, but I'm thinking of using the Anshutz for hunting as well as FT and save quite a bit of momey in doing so. The thing is with the Anshutz once you've clocked qua
  10. Absolute bargain..........Al :thumbs-up: Thanks Targa, I hope I can return the info one day........Al :thumbs-up:
  11. A really good conversion and recommended by all I know who have done it, there may some info on kits etc on the Theoben web site...........Al :thumbs-up:
  12. As above in first class order throughout, C/W Hawke 3-9X40 Sport HD scope and fitted sling studs. Just been offered £400 at the local gunshop as a trade in for a new rifle, so if anyone can better this price plus delivery or would prefer face to face, they will be the new owner. These are a first class air rifle of top quality and the new owner will not be disappointed. If not sold by Saturday, it will be traded if I can raise the necessary cash...............Al
  13. Ultras are pretty popular mind and a lovely looking piece of kit, so I suppose it's prices and "horses for courses" so to speak..........Al :thumbs-up:
  14. Hi Jock, until recently, I was of the opinion that .22 was theonly callibre to go for and never considered .177 for a second. At the moment out of five rifles only one of them is .22. Why the change? Unless you are thinking FAC, .177 will out perform a .22, provided the operator can hit the target in the right place, i.e. head shots. You don't have to spend a fortune on a rifle, well not unless you're an impulsive crazy barsteward like me!!!!!!!!, but one thing that will make the difference to ensure a good hit, is a good scope................Al :thumbs-up: Hey there, how do you
  15. Never shot one, supposed to be a good rifle, seem to hold their price well. As for a comparison with the AA, I doubt if they are in the same league IMHO. But maybe someone on here could do a better comparison for you..............Al :thumbs-up:
  16. Excellent rifle, I would recommend these to anyone. As for the weight, use it too your advantage, I find light rifles harder to keep still, especially at this time of year with the wind blowing it everywhere. On the subject of slings, your choice, I hate drilling a stock, as if you make a mistake, you will regret it!!! You could always do what I do in this situation, a slip sling, one end slides over the stock, the other over the barrel, adjust to suit yourself, no problem. Where to get one?, again do what I do, good old eeekbay, get them in cammo etc, cheap as chips and light as a feather.
  17. Hello nuisance and welcome........Al :thumbs-up:
  18. Hi there and welcome..............Al :thumbs-up:
  19. That was a good bit of telly last night and maybe a wake up call to all concerned............Al :thumbs-up:
  20. Hi Ben, if it's a PCP you're after, you're not going to get much for £200-£250. A good springer, most definitely in your price range, but single shot. I have a Daystate X2 Sports for sale @ £440, 10 shot magazine, scope and swivel studs fitted, ready to go. But then you've got to be thinking of the air supply via pump or cylinder, which pushes the price up further. If you're looking at PCPs for £250, even if there are any and if you have limited knowledge of them, make sure you have someone with you who knows a bit about them. I hope you don't mind me saying this, as I hate anyone bein
  21. It's great so know someone else rates these scopes as they can hold their own with similar modern day scopes costing three or four times as much. I've two scopes at present, one £500+ when new and the other £1000+ when new and yet I didn't think of mounting them on the Longbow as they are not quick enough. This is down to the Simmonds having far less fuss and nonsense with brilliant optics and this was the only scope I ever fitted on my Rapid with some excellent kills even with my crap eyesight ............Al :thumbs-up: They do feel nice, especially when you're pointing it
  22. Yep, these certainly are the mutts nuts .........Al :thumbs-up:
