    Animal rescue

]Yep, our big beutiful boy Graf, a Rotttie. Some cruel sod had bought him off a breeder we know, whose pups are £500+ and starved him. We never thought he'd survive, looked like a whippet, only thinner!!!, his bones were sticking through his skin and this resulted in sores/infection, couldn't keep his food down or in and he was so grateful for any sign of affection. He'd obviously been contained in a pen or something and just couldn't that all of a sudden he had about half an acre of yard to play in and that I'd given him a reclining armchair, where I'd sit with him in my lap on a Saturday
  3. At the mo I use a V Mach tuned Air Arms Pro Sport .177 and a Dayatate X2 Sports .22, both just under the 12lbs and between the two, they sort everything we don't want on our land.
  4. Right guys, a while back, I read about Rotties being used as gun dogs and a chap who"rats" with a Shar Pei. Just out of interest, anyone one on here used them? These are my two boys, Graf the Rottie and the Shar Pei is Gus. Immense strength with Graf. Gus is a different kettle of fish, in my mind a serious piece of kit, so fit, fast, strong and is working all the time, everything he catches on our land he brings home for me at the back door, reminds me of a cat in that respect. I'm not into working them at all, they are with us for a different reason and I like hunt alone, mainly as p

    Fireworks

I was up in the forest above where we live earlier, parked the car in what used to be an old quarry the Forestry Comission used to use, got out and I counted twenty one spent firework casings. These weren't tiny things, they were the massive things that I thought they had tried to ban. The quarry is about four miles by road/ two miles as the crow flies, from us, we'd heard them going off last night, Rotties were wound up, but thankfully the horses were OK. City folk may think, oh, it's ok won't harm anyone out there in the middle of nowhere , myself I think they need a reality check ...Al
  9. Hi, nice bit of work there. With regards to pellets, have you tried Accupels, a brilliant all-round pellet, the only draw back is that they are filthy things to handle, mind you I'm a pretty crap shot, so there's a good chance they'll die of lead poisening if you use these :11: . How does your mate enjoy the FX2000? , been thinking of one of these myself...Al
  10. Nice pics, used to a lot of this on the sticky black stuff , favourite country to compete was Ireland ....Say no more...Al :11:
  11. I've had a few air rifles, PCP are definitely the quietest, not used a gas ram, supposed to be really good. As for springer, I've just got one, my first for about twenty years, a .177 Air Arms Pro Sport V-Mach tuned, a really good rifle and I wouldn't say that loud for a springer. My PCP is a .22 Daystate X2 Sports and this is a really good rifle, very light and so smooth to use, that said I do find a heavier rifle easier to use and more to my liking. I have owned a couple of MK1 Rapids and for hunting I think these are the ultimate air rifle, my last one I'd owned for about twelve years and
  12. Hi guys, just introducing myself, I'm al and live with my family in wildest mid west Wales and we love it here . We have a six year old daughter, four dogs and two horses and live on a smallholding/farm of just over twelve acres. Interests are are all sort of sport, have two air rifles at the mo, .22 Daystate X2 Sports and a .177 Air Arms Pro Sport V- Mach tuned. I use them vermin/pest control on the land. We ride quads and I try and run in our local forest everyday that I can fit it in. Forgot to say, I'm 53 years old, have to keep fit as my Mrs is 19 years younger than me :11: Lookin
