  1. Funny as feck, with each purchase you get a £100 gift voucher for your next purchase.
  2. It's really worrying, but that's the world we live in, folk who really will pay close to 1000 for a random x breed, where they know no history etc. Imagine a litter of say 8 pups, at 800 quid each - that's 6400 from that litter, and if you have a couple of bitches, having a couple of litters each year, even after costs, thats a bloody good income. It's only going to get worse!
  3. Chart - I can, and if you cannot, maybe your not thinking hard enough. Rob - Yes, but that's not what this thread is about. Simo - thanks, but i suppose you cannot discuss this. Out of interest do you know what kit they use?
  4. Just out of interest, does or has, anyone on here used a tracking collar on their dog/s? I've been out once with some lads that used them to great effect, and the americans etc use them a lot.
  5. Andy - are jaz and ginny wearing trackers?
  6. Feck that. Get yourself some brightly colured tent pegs (plastic) with a hoog at the top end (normally where the guy rope goes), so when you wrap your net up, you can put the hook through the net / string and it wont unravel in your bag, or if you chuck it over a hedge. Edited to add - i didn't look at the above link and they are the exact same ones we use!
  7. could just be beddy/grey x saluki/grey
  8. I know what you mean i've one here simular mate.... Aye mate, they are little b*****ds
  9. Couple of things - he makes lurcher type collars, which are exactly the same shape (well more or less) as the traditional leather ones, i have one on my whippet and it doesnt look too big or silly imo. However, in certain situations i can see the logic in putting a real wide all around collar on a smaller running dog as well.
  10. Only down side of such a fantastic post, is that there will probably be umpteen litters on done deal / gumtree etc, sold as 'minshaws', (collie/grey x saluki/grey ) exept i suppose, that they will be able to quote the lineage now Buyer beware
  11. It's a nice idea, but unless you know the land it can lead to problems, as usually you get carried away, the dogs are on, and your watching a fine chase, and then the farmer appears on his quad. Also, since some wrong uns put up big piles of dales rabbits on here, everyone and their granny is up there bunny bashing and everyone is on the look out for lurcher lads, according to the locals i know.
  12. That's your album cover right there mate Bit like the clash with deer
  13. Nice idea, but how are you going to check they Are actually over 18? I suggest a basic iq test at the start when registering.
  14. Also the added advantage that he will make it exactly as you require, and his slip leads are ace as well.
  15. i agree with a lot of the comments about bringing a pup on. But the weather we are having lately, a spin behind something on this hard ground and your pup might not be running again for a while.
  16. It';s not bad, the only draw back is it's home to a certain species, that the back dog has a habit of finding, and then going on a merry dance with for a long time, before re-appearing knackered.
  17. Firstly, well done for not putting an 8month old pup on a hare, along with it being illegal (yawn), it quite possibly would have proper f****d her, especially with the hard ground at the moment. SOunds like you are doing k, all dogs are individuals and have different traits and speed of learning, stick with what you are doing and dont rush owt, she will be about 12 months in september and ready to pile some work into. But maybe give her a few easy runs end of summer, if we get some wet weather.
  18. Cheers Mally! Problem is, he thinks he can tackle anything
  19. Cheers J.dog. Yes C - that's in the middle of nowhere, and over that water in the first pick, are the bad lands.
  20. Very uneventful, apart from a tree rat, well, until the black dog found something at the bottom of the far end of the clear fell, and that was him gone for a half hour
  21. I know it sounds daft, but them black rabbits really are harder to catch!
