    Also does depend on what you class as 'starting working'. I'd take a 6-9 month dog out for a couple of hours gentle ferreting, just to watch, and gain some experiance, maybe hold a rabbit in the net etc, but wouldnt lamp one. And i'd let a 9 month dog, hunt up and mooch about if that was what its intended role was, just picking the right areas etc. But no flat out working till after 12 months.

    Young jills, first litters, always seem to be big - 10 + often. Then as they get older, a second litter is often small maybe 4-5.

    Surely the only prblem anyone has with whin, is that he posts the same lines on any thread where folk have done well and put some photos up. I.e - just rabbits, no challenge, done it before, childs play for me with my salmos, phezzies, d.slight, tor of dartmoor, big land, beasties. No need for photos when you hiding from the goverment man.

    Yer, I meant more like, before the ban, daytime, when a dog does one into large forestry type blocks, after something, and catches it, but its too large to retrieve, and no one has a fecking clue where it is. Might be handy in such situations to have a magic box? Just wondered if anyone had used one in the past and if so what.

    I think its goes way back, there were several 'types' of grey.

    It wasn't about hounds mate, and not really about situations in which you can blow a horn, or really much use it it back tracks to you. If that makes any sense? It was initially stuck in the lurcher section.

    I don't get why everyone is moaning about folk having a go at whin. No one has a problem with him, or his opinion, it's just his rather repetative. dismissive way, of putting it across, again and again and again

    Thanks for the info mate, would you say there is much advantage in the newer model, other than the marking down point thing.

    I have let them have a sniff of each other etc, and tried to get them spending time in the same room. He is not agressive toward her, just doesn't like being around her, which i hope will change with time. I think the main thing, is he has been the only dog in the house fr the last couple of years, with everything else either coming and going or being kenneled.

    I remember being out with a lad on here, and him telling me the farmer had phoned, reporting a 'herd' of foxes running down a field. Fresh out of an rspca van no doubt.

    Is cutting something jugular vein etc, any slower than shooting it in the head with a bolt gun, in reality? Or is it just that it's messier?

    Yes, i heard about the marking system, so you can mark where you have caught etc. What is the map view like on the 220, is it fairly comprehensive, i.e what kind of detail is it in?
