  1. a friend of mine recently acquired a border terrier about 4yrs old,and a few weeks ago he said it had some sort of fit during his sleep, don't know what caused it,so was wondering if any one with experience or knowledge of borders can help,is there any genetic fault responsible for it or are these fits common within the breed? Thanks, Higgins.
  2. Forgot to mention, his ripped ear from big buck rat. :11: Moore pics of Jack on my topic "Rambo" smart beddy, good luck with him, Higgins.
  3. since when have rabbit pelts fetched such high prices,i can't believe people would pay anything for a rabbit skin,i remember whole rabbits being sold for 50 p or a pound, certainly it may be cheaper to get out with someone doing a bit with their dogs and taking one or two home and skinning them yourself,8 pound a pelt, blimey i can see another fur rush coming on ,the rabbits will certainly feel the heat now, i ve not had a lurcher for a while but if those prices hold steady i may reconsider it again!Seriously,it's not going to be enjoyable just doing it for the money, but mooching about is lo
  4. dosen't matter who gets in,since governments began, laws were created where none existed before, take your blinkers off everyone, these laws will soon make every honest individual a criminal in the end, simply for the fact that there will be too many laws to avoid(and some trivial ones at that!),too many cameras, too many rules, too much euro directives, too much legislation, too much red tape, too much debt, too much euro/ brussells interference, too much MRSA, too many ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS(only illegal since labour/euro started),too much lies, too many BAD POLITICIANS,and not one politician can be any
  5. should be plenty of lads on here or smoochers with rabbit skins, who will let you have a few, Higgins.

  12. yes nuttall and his terriers,i would like to know, since i have bought a border/lakeyX Nuttall Terrier pup how much influence would Nuttall's bloodline be evident in my terrier, this is one for the experts,i see the pup is hellbent on ripping things up,but could that be the border/lakey side of things, just out of interest,i would like to know the various traits of my pup,my pup is nine weeks old,but i am no authority on them, where is this trait most likely coming from?I know it's a pup,but since i bought him,all i can do is observe him doing his demolition routine with everything he gets ho
  13. DeanD i agree with you entirely, someone will ALWAYS take the piss,it seems to be the nature of FORUMS, I only come on these forums myself to get the wheat from the chaffe so to speak, all the best , Higgins.
  14. Dean D you seem like a knowledgeable fella, but what i think Rymie meant was that the guy was trying to restart his Brightmoor breeding program again to breed for smaller males,i don't think he meant he was trying to breed a smaller type of terrier overall,if i'm wrong i'll hold my hands up,all the best everyone, Higgins.
  15. Gypo Joe you may have a point there.......but the rest of us were talking about terriers....Ahem.. Higgins.
  16. you are spot on DeanD,terriers do seem to bring out the best and the worst in all of us,maybe it's because we are so strongly in favour of terriers, all i can say is no matter what the current controversy is regarding who bred what and where,i always think to myself thank god he created terriers(and all other hunting dogs in their diversity)because for myself i am useless without one, cheers, Higgins.
  17. if only the terriermen were as tough as their terriers eh......
  18. seen a few of the bigger nuttall terriers work, personally i liked them back then, but they always used to be too hard and take a lot of stick, now i've seen a smaller size in them ,i just thought that some of his terriers were naturally small, didn't realize they were becoming smaller generally as some of you mention on this thread, Higgins.
  19. i see you got sorted then winks,is it a muzzle or harness, looks similar to the old ferret muzzles i used to have although yours will be much bigger? Higgins.
  20. give me the Hong Kong Phooey strain anytime, anybody want a biting pup? Higgins.
  21. what do you plan on hunting with it CH,just noticed your flag /location are you in Hong Kong or from there? If you live over there what could you hunt? Higgins.
  22. Depends on the vet. just seen someone selling a dose on here today for six quid, two for a tenner surplus to requirements, Higgins.
  23. best sticking to one designed to locate underground for accurracy and sensitivity, the key finder/child locator types are best used above ground for maximum range, also range is usually quoted as line of sight and by this they would not take obstacles between transmitter and reciever into account.I wouldn't chance using one without a proper field test in various types of terrain that you would normally enter a terrier in, Higgins.
  24. some crackin names coming up(just thought of cracker then!) thanks to everyone who sent names, will take me a while to decide on one,i just have to keep watchin the pup for now to see if any names look the part for him, thanks all,YIS, Higgins.
  25. I am not into politics pal,and by the way have you ever heard of a dog called Tony these days, smacks of new labour.....thanks for the suggestion, Higgins.
