    I would sway to what Labtastic is saying about the gasses on a landfill..mixy and RHD would not effect your bird but then again we will never know unless a scientific investigation went under way..

    Ive just seen this mate and im over the moon for you.. ..onward's and upward's now ..ive had to ground gengoid now through lack of quarry they was bit's to start with but now it's gone worse and all i have been doing is flying from tree's which is pretty sole destroying to say the least..like you said on the blower this year want's a big cross putting through it..

    With the changing season's could it not be better for stronger bird's..if the season started a month later and finnished a month later....when the shoot's in northumberland started this year i noticed some of the poult's still had a lot of fattening up and growing to do..and a lot of them will have been slow weak bird's..

    I was driving along the A689 near sedgefield last year and i clocked a deer running across a field closely followed by a black saluki X ..i pulled over and watched the event..the deer made it to cover and the dog ran back across the field to where ever it came from..but i enjoyed watching it.. ..the same as when i used to go watch the warterloo cup i used to love watching them coarsing grey's bombing along the field's at full speed after the hare.

    Hard to tell as it is in juvinile colour.. ..but i would hazard a guess at a Cock bird..then again im swaying toward a Hen through the eye marking....

    I love to watch anyone's dog's doing the buisness and doing good..and if they are better than mine i would try to pick up on thing's to better mine..not on a competetive scale though.. I go out and see Moll's dog's now and again well regular really and it sure get's my juice's flowing watching them run and catch what is put infront of them..especially when you can see the dog has been trained to nearly the limmit and does everything right..(no breaking stick required ) I was out the other week watching some collie crosses do there job aswell as Moll's whippet and i can honestly say i did

    I have dropped gun's and scope's before today and what you have described happen's ...what type of rifle is it..i have a s410 and it's been dropped several time's and the barrel is easily knocked out of line..easily fixed though..when mine was flinging the pellet out eraticaly it was the barrel that needed cleaning..out of 10 shot's 5 of them would be out by around 8" for no reason..

    Is the scope new..?..if so as suggested try removing the silencer if it's not that give the barrel a good old clean if it's not that then the scope is fooked..if the grouping was only out by a inch or two it could be down to the power curve..but but flining them 12" out is a bit too much for that..i had similar problem's a good few month back and a good barrel clean solved the problem..one other thing are the scope mount's tight..

    Just blast it with front line and pull them of..if you can see them they wont be too small..better of removing them now before they start removing the ferret's blood.

    So you dont think one would be worse than the other. Any smell would be out of the ordinary to a prey animal..not that it matter's if you get the wind right..

    Me think's either smell will set alarm bell's rining for a prey species..if you rub yourself in pine sap and go on land where they is no pine im sure the quarry would be warey..
