  7. a stay in a built up area and my dogs are out in the kennel. my dads lab is bad for the barking. soon as it sees a light going on in the house it starts, if it hears a siren from a ambulance it starts, basically it starts at the least bit a noise. the council came to our house because some tosser had complaint. the council said they would only give out a couple of warnings then we could end up with a asbo. we had a fair idea who put the complaint in. but wasnt 100% sure. a dont realy blame the person for it because the barking was getting out of control. so a think the route they would use is
  8. my friend allrounder lad just got his shotgun license a few weeks back there so weve been out doing a bit of shooting lately. we were up at stirling a few weeks ago for the geese but we didnt get much luck but allrounder lad got a teal. nice shot a good retrieve with my lab. my freind got a bit of permission on a hill up in biggar so weve been up there aswell. just using the ferrets to bolt the rabbits. its been good fun, heres some pics of the days out atb
  9. well done mate, cracking looking dog aswell atb poacherman
  10. she was doing great up until she got her cut. especially on the strike. yesterday she actually touched two rabbits and was running next to them. so a think her confidence was a bit low aswell. the only way to solve the problem of fitness, sharpness and confidence is getting her back out and get her more runs on rabbits and once she gets a couple it will all start coming back into shape again. on the cuts on my dog i used vet veterinary would powder. i would reccomemnd that to anyone with a cut on there dogs. couldnt believe how fast it cleared up my dogs wound atb poacher
  11. its a saluki grey whippet grey. thats her nearly 14months old atb poacherman
  12. after hurting herself two weeks ago on a barbed wired fence a lay her up fur nearly two weeks. a took her out yesterday and see the difference in fitness and sharpness. it looked like she had only started on rabbits again. it was only two weeks she was out for but its unbeleivable how it can affect running dogs. a took her to a bit in perth where theres loads a rabbits. had the two ferrets with me and my springer. in my mind a thought the lurcher would get a good few, maybe double figures by going with the way it was going before it got injured and the amount of rabbits on this bit of ground.
  13. imaging catching gail platt on the lamp lol
  14. heres a pic of my two. work them together all the time. but a take my spaniel on beats and shooting and my lurcher does its lamping aswell. my lurcher wouldnt be half the dog it is the now if it wasnt for the spaniel. its flushed many a rabbits out for her. a take the spaniel ferreting aswell as the lurcher isnt realy marking the holes yet. a man asked me the other week there if my spaniel is still steady as a have with the lurcher all the time. ave had the odd time my spaniel has ran in but he was just over excited but he knew he had done wrong. the perfect bushing team is a lurcher and a spa
  15. a had a pheasant curry last week. a got two jars of tikka massala sauce from the local supermarket. took the breasts out the pheasant and cut them up in to reasonable chunks and maranated them in a hot and spicy powder then fried it in the wok for a about 15 mins then added the massala sauce and let it simmer for another 20mins. it was brillaint and the brother loved it aswell. could try that with the venison, just a idea for ye atb poacherman
  16. a dog with half a brain wouldnt chase a lure, a older man from my area who has had proven lurchers for years put his lurcher in for a lure race just to see what reaction he would get from his dog, the lure went and his dog watched it for a second and walked away and done a pish, the man says that was the reaction he was looking for because it showed his dog was too clued up, everybody to there own tho atb poacherman
  17. heres my saluki grey whippet grey, 13months old
  18. a few times ave been out now while its been snowing am struggling to get marks at holes. my dogs a good steady marker and never let me down but it seems when the snow is down it can never get a mark. i walked a hill in biggar yesterday and we tried about 30 warrens maybe more on a busy hill and never got a mark. moved on to another bit of ground and the sun was hittin the hill so the rabbits were starting to come out. seen a couple going back in the hole so we knew they were rabbits in it but we still let the dog go to the hole to see if it would mark it as a tester and still never marked it.
  19. that was like one of the hunting storys in the countrymans weekly, good read mate atb poacherman
