  1. I had excellent results using honey on a very nasty wire 'rip' on my bitch's groin area, honey has anti bacterial properties and promotes new skin growth. I smeared it on the wound three or four times a day and left it on for twenty minutes (preventing the bitch from licking it off). After 20 mins I let her lick it off. The wound was totally healed after about 10 days without any scarring - I didnt use any particular type just what they had in my corner shop, worked for me anyway! Phil
  2. It depends what you are looking for really, the game fair itself is nothing special but if you want to see arguably the best gathering of WORKING terriers and lurchers in the UK then you have to go on the Sunday.
  3. I've been feeding my lurchers BARF for about 4 or 5 years and they do very well on it but reading some of the threads on here and other sites i've noticed that a lot of you add garlic as a supplement and have a few questions regarding its use....... What benefits do you get from garlic? What form do you give it in? e.g. powdered, capsules, fresh etc.... How much do you give them? Where do you buy it? Many thanks for any replies
  4. Can't understand why you guys have allowed yourself to be dictated to by our ethnic "friends" and bollock-less little nobodies who allegedlly represent your interests!! In Wales we all celebrate our welshness on St Davids day with flags flying everywhere, kids going to school in national dress and taking part in eisteddfords and everyone wearing daffodils pinned to their clothes etc etc......... C'mon people stand up for yourselves and celebrate your heritage
  5. Where is the Berkely show??? I've seen nothing advertised, anyone got any info?? Cheers Phil
  6. Try www.tpms.co.uk mate, I've used them for a couple of years and can't fault their products or delivery.
  7. I've been to the Frampton show for the last couple of years and I think its a cracking show in a stunning location, my only gripe is that they class anyone over 5 years old as an adult and charge full entry fee Tight barstewards!!
  8. I'm thinking of travelling from Gwent to this show on Bank Hol Monday and was looking for some advice from my fellow hunters in that neck of the woods. My journey should take about 1hr 45mins but due to traffic on the M5 how long should I give myself or should I even bother as I dont really want to spend all day on the M5!! Thanks for any replies
  9. I went on the Sunday and thought the show was excellent despite the shitty weather (it felt more like October than August) you could see how much time and effort had gone into the show. I also thought the lurcher show was very well organised and very professionally judged, the final line up could have graced any show in the country and the quality of trophies was superb. I for one will attend next year and surely the weather can't be total shite for three years running can it??
  10. You have my sympathies mate, we've been lucky as the rain has just soaked into the mountains. I hope your family, possessions and dogs are all ok
  11. Unfortunately I was unable to make the show but i'm glad everyone had a good time. Does anyone know who won the Lurchers and Terriers and did anyone take pics??
  12. Bobo - the pups are lurcher x lurcher from 20 years of worker to worker, they are a mix of greyhound, whippet, beddie, collie and deerhound with a smidge of saluki a few generations back. jpt - Bella is owned by John, he decided he couldn't let her go despite his work committments, I own Maddie and also aquired Reggie last week(long story mate!!). Duke and Sonny are owned by the guy who owns the sire of the litter and they are the best trained pups of their age i've seen We did quite well in the show with Sonny winning the pups and reggie second and reggie and his mother winning th
  13. Hiya mate, went to a local show today and managed to take these pics of some of your pups litter mates.. BELLA.... MADDIE... SONNY.... DUKE...... REGGIE.....
  14. Is there any truth in the rumour that there will be no ringside parking or free entry passes for qualifiers of the CMW Champion of Champions at this years Midland??????? Phil
  15. Yes mate, the show did take place and it was a good turnout considering the diabolical weather!! A black dog owned by Beck won the terriers, not sure bout the pups though.
  16. Rew.......Jake's dam was a mixture of greyhound, whippet, collie and beddie from a line that can be traced back 20 years or so, the sire was a full whippet. He stands about 22.5 inches and weighs 42lbs.
  17. Well, personally I think the judges got it spot on with the winning dog who was not only very well put together but is a genuine worker from long standing working lines, if I sound a bit biased its 'cos I am.....the dog is owned by myself There is a nice pic of him in the 'shows' section of this forum. It was taken on the cliffs above cwmtyduu beach in New Quay, West Wales just after he had caught a few bunnies for the freezer (was a bit of a bugger as we were on holiday in a caravan)
  18. Adam, I'm not the phil with lurchers and spaniels but the Phil you're talking about owns the sire and two litter brothers of jpt's pup. I also own a bitch from this litter. jpt...she looks stunning mate, very, very similar to my bitch though i'm guessing your pup is bigger - mine is just under 22" at the moment. I'm also really pleased with my bitch, very obedient and very keen - i'm having a job to hold her back at the moment. I think everyone who had a pup out of this litter is chuffed to bits with how they've turned out. Just goes to prove 20 odd years of worker to worker and you're in
  19. Being a bit of a tw*t I forgot my camera so wasn't able to record my "moment of glory" However I do have a pic of 'jake' who was the champion lurcher.......... Many thanks for all the people who were good enough to offer me their congratulations and nice comments
  20. Best lurcher won by................................. Welshphil
  21. Tidy, it'll be nice to see him and the mutts.....
  22. Hiya, just wondered if anyone off here is going? :thumbs-up:
