  1. im going out on monday night to see a 3 year old bitch, bull 1/4 grey 3/4 and a wheaton 1/4 collie 1/4 grey 1/2 dog of 2 1/2 years working, so could be interesting, he also has a saluki x grey, dont remember the % mix, its a bitch, big hairy ears and feet like snow shoes, which hes breeding soon i think,
  2. I'm selling my dog trailer, its 2'6" x 4' x 2'6", sides, roof and chassis are galvanised steel, floor is 8mm heavy duty plastic, it has independent suspension 13" corsa tyres and rims, plastic mud guards, middle splitter to leave 2 compartments, also has jockey wheel and rear light board built onto it, looks neat and tidy, 175 sterling or 200euro. trailer is near newry, could deliver in some parts of northern ireland, ie belfast, armagh or downpatrick
  3. the reason for unimog axles is height, the higher you are shooting from then usually the more you can see, and shoot at safely.
  4. what you need mate is a nice hybrid project, a 100" chassis, leafer parabolics suspension, unimog axles, 4.2 toyboata engine and gear bag, and a series land rover double cab body, would take some beating as a shooting wagon, and for that matter on the off road course too, in fact i'd buy 1 if they were in showrooms
  5. do you know what to look out for, inner sills, inner wings and boot floor all rust like crazy ,if it has 2 sun roofs expect at least 1 of them to leak, 200 tdi engine is pretty much bullet proof as is gearbox and transfer box, although a little agricultural sounding, very capable off road, and rather comfortable on road,
  6. i won't critise anyones dogs on looks, but if it wrecks a night out lamping then its fair game for a slag, and slow walk home, with its owner, 9 1/2 times outta 10 its the way a dog has been brought on thats the problem, by a gabshite who shouldn't even be allowed to hold the lamp, we all know a few of them
  7. modern landy comfort is great as is performance, i drove a landy series 3 for a few years, and thought it was great, then i bought a landy 90 v8, with soft seats, was great to drive, useless for hunting from, so now im on to a 110 hi cap, on bfg mt's, and 2 t-max winches, front and back, currently making mesh sides for it
  8. i was in contact with a fella who has a wheaton x bull x grey and is putting it to a greyhound, his lurcher is mean but he says it lacks top speed, hoping to see the bitch work at the weekend
  9. wheaton x seems to be the weapon of choice, i'm going to have a good look about in the next few weeks,to see the potential parents work, have a look at a few if possible, i dont mind waiting, my terrier is only 6months, so have a while before i need to worry, just keep the foxes at bay with the .222 until i get sorted, really dont wanted landed with crap. some fine advice and some interesting sounding animals
  10. whats your dog conor collie cross, i like the sound of hound cross, bit harder of a dog
  11. dont believe i've seen more than 1 or 2 wheatons over here
  12. fence hopper what about a harrier or fox hound x greyhound, yee of almighty lurcher knowledge
  13. what is he,apart from retired because of the ban
  14. true, do you have lurcher or just the yorki x grey, it would be the job on two legged foxes
  15. me and the missus tried that in the bedroom last night, woke up this morning and the garden was covered in fox shit, so it defo works
  16. if the dogs shit i'd sell it to someone in the uk, then head home again, hahaha, only kidding, i know exactly what you mean, most bigger dogs should give a decent account on a fox, so the list is beddy, wheaten or deerhound first cross greyhound, my looking can begin, like the sound of a hairy wheatenxgrey, cheers any other opinions
  17. fence hopper if you hold the yorki up to the greyhound fair play to you, you were new to the sport once, so if you have nothing sensible to say, then go find a horny yorki. is that deerhoundxgrey first cross, bullxgrey too heavy for rabbits or what?????????? just lost my hunting buddy on saturday, he was trying to fill my head with sh@t
  18. i have been told that i should get myself a lurcher pup to have it working at the same time as my terrier, what is the best mix, mainly for foxes and some rabbits, advise please
  19. if you feed a dog raw meaty bones of any sort, control the amount and exercise the dog well then getting fat shouldn't be an issue, leave the bones as big as possilbe to stop the dog swallowing unbroken bones, they learn fast and love it, you should try commercial meat factories for meaty bones, they dont want them
  20. welcome mate, as just said the name irish staff is used by some to breed or sell pitbull's, but they are not the same, they have a much better temperment and are useful, were as a pitbull isn't, a good irish staff is quick to respond to the bolting fox
  21. i'll get out my own knives and take a few pics of them, if it was warmer tonight i would be finishing his knife
  22. the shots are amazing, what part of the world did you take them in
  23. this is my brothers knife, very near finished, my missus is able to blue tooth pics to laptop from my mobile, as i said im a computer retard
  24. my bro won't use handmade stuff incase he breaks it, stupid i say, its made to use, i never sell the knives, make about 1 per month and give it away, only started making them because i dont really like the way there is no real knife shop near me to go and actually handle a decent knife before you buy, not fond of the knives that most gun shops sell, cheap for a reason, i should get pics on tomorrow, have to buy a lead to connect laptop to mobile
  25. can't decide between fallkniven nl5 idun or a nice boker, reviews on both knives are great, so i must investigate further, i prefer carbon steel, but have to admit some of the newer laminates are as good if not better
