This is getting dangerously close to the "killing for killing sake" and "pseudo pest control" argument. Or have I just taken some bait? Swampy Nervous Ning Dunno if youve taken bait or not pal, not sure what you mean. all i mean is just because its on the official pest list dont mean its neccessarily a pest on your/my permissions. As for killing for killing sake, what some may call hunting for sport, thats another matter, i was talking purely about pest control. It amazes me how the rspb cant even acknowledge the fact that sum species of birds are in rapid decline due to over predation from raptors its a shame these things come to that and i guess we are to blame somwhere down the line Its moggys and maggys that top the birds ,they want sorting out first,modern farming methods dont help either.

This field near me will be alive with rabbits in the next few weeks,the problem is they are very hard to catch,the ground is sandy and full of stones,they never make runs what you can see till the wheat is a foot high then you can snare ,or trap them in bgs, the trouble with that is by the time its grown that high ,the rabbits have had the first twenty yards,iwas at a loss what to do last year so i asked G.W.this year its a late crop but like all boy scouts. cheers Glen.

it was not an answer it was a reply, and i do understand the problems you poultry keepers have with bop,also i will not be telling any thing about earth worms and beetles ,you know what these birds kill and so do i . About the happy level you mention,the three estates close to me will put down thirty thousand bird s this year plus partridges, how do you level that lot out ?.What i am trying to say is bop are very big down here,theres a lot of secrurity around them,they are monitered day and night,so if trigger happy guns start blasting them out the skies ,the shit will hit fan as i said ,i

can you imagine the reaction of the public if bop were shot,game birds are reared in there umteen thousands down here,in late summer you see them splattered all over the roads in thier hundreds,the keepers dont dog them in like they used to,its just release ,feed ,and shoot,the end result is a dead pheasant that no one wants,joe public will pick a sparrowhawk over a pheasant any day of the week and if people are allowed to shoot them,those trades wont have to worry about doing there jobs properly,they wont have a job. After reading this thread ,many on here will have come to the conclusion that your doing it right, and everyone else is doing it wrong,so tell us Foxy,whats the secret ,how do you achieve these 100% instant kills ,take us through it in detail, i have learnt a lot off this forum,and now i feel i have the chance to learn a lot more.Over the years i have caught two mink and several ferrets in fenn 6s ,all were alive and taken in traps set for rabbits,i have also caught 1mink ,stoats, and ferrets in bgs these were all dead,on another note theres a chap here on the leicestershire -warrickshire bord

You asked a question ,you got a reply, twat why twat,its people like you my friend who are dragging this forum into the gutter,it is possible to get your point across without resorting to abuse and foul language .. To go to the trouble and expense of setting up a drop box system then release rabbits is silly,here in Leicestershire we refer to people who do silly things as twats, in hindsight, the word twat, may be a little harsh ,so with your consent ,i will change that abusive foul word to PRAT.

Why do you need the trap to be more sensitive ? if its set right it will fire ,adjusting the trigger wires to suit the target species is more important The trap shown in Ian B sketch had been set for beaver ,the trapper had ,had a problem with them passing to far through before the trap fired,not a problem we will come up against in leicestershire

Dont be a prick....a young woman has just died leaving 2 young children behind. I could never understand what all the attention was about a woman with no talent and no looks but thats our society for you....you dont need to be talented to be rich and famous these days....but you cant blame the woman for it and i certainly wouldnt wish how she ended up on anyone.....my heart go,s out to all those close to her. in all honesty i agree with aft i know its shit for her kids, but it doesn't affect me in any way, i didn't know her personally, and she didn't come across as the sort of perso

The ferret seems to be ok,he is limping on his front right leg,and his top half is tender,but he is easy to handle and no longer nippy. the collar is new, smaller than all mine [mark 1s]but if you hold a cap on it works fine allthough it makes a differrent noise

Icaught a ferret in a fenn trap today,it was wearing a collar without a batteryand cap,it seemed to be not to badly hurt so we got him out the trap alive allthough he nailed me twice through the little fingernail,he is in a cage now on his own and appears to be in shock,if hes alive in the morning iwill put his photo up
