T P , this land is alongside the M 1,the foxs have a nice safe walk into the cityalong the embankments,if the weather is dry they can go under the motorway through the culverts,also ,theres a big poultry place nearby and that draws them in,this time of the year theres allways lots of dead pidgeons in the fields ,so thats another easy feed for them.
  2. dont bury owt mate, lookat the aticles on here,that will get you started, the rest is common sense ,make sure your traps bedded down ,pegs well in,cover the plate with peat ,the safetys off,and your away .

The rifle boys have shot 13 foxs over the last two weeks on this farm,so i thought it was safe ,i set five snares for my ferret food ,this is what i got, 1 and 2 headless rabbits,3wire snapped at the eyelet,4pile of guts and a heap of spewed up meat,5peg ,wire, and tealer gone,i left my bag on the stubble to unlock the gatea at 6am to let the pidgeon shooters on,when i returned about 10 minutes later ,one rabbit was out the bag ,and one of the heads had gone.
  4. I live in Leicestershire ,as allways we have had dixi very bad down here,the rabbits are now scraping out theburrows for late litters,in fact ,all the doe rabbits i have caught recentlyare lined with small embryos,so the season wont properly start til late october if it stays mild

My daughter is away on holiday, so we have the dog for a few days,hes a beddy whippet,just a pet really ,but every time i look after him he nails stuff, hes a real b*****d for pheasants,so living where i do ,i have to watch him closely,i took him a walk this morning and he topped two rabbits and a duck,hes a cracking hedgerow dog,nails rabbits for fun,i even took him lamping last year ,his one and only time, and he caught five rabbits,beddy crosses have allways rang my bell ,and this ones no exception,dos every thing you want him to do without proper training ,and the only faults he has ,is t

  8. To be fair to Brixham , fish and chips on the quayside was 5 and a half quid,and very good they were to .

I have just had a few days in Brixham ,while i was there we had fish and chips, not on the harbour ,but from Daves chip shop,a couple of streets inland,the price of fish and chips was over £7 ,that is about a 170 times as much as i paid in the middle 1950s, on the plus side, beer was only about 70 times as much.

  11. It was just simple blackberry wine mate,rough and ready it could be taken with with any meat or fish ,however the flavour did improve if you drank itwith a gob full of polos
  12. when i was a kid my sister and me used to pick buckets,my mam used to make wine ,jam ,and a very sharp sauce.We had the sauce with home made brawn,pickled pigs feet ,or pressed sheeps head,my dad used to have it with boiled cows udder ,i could never tackle udder ,the smell used to turn me when it was being boiled, in the bucket ,my mam and nan were TT,but they often got pissed on blackberry or elderberry wine, or, tonic, as they used to call it . People dont seem to bother with them nowdays,theres acres of them near me ,this morning i picked a gallon in a few minutes.

  14. Its very bad around Leicestershire,and all this rain is not going to help.
  15. Theres an interesting article in this weeks S Ts about small calibre rifles ,one was a .10 ,firing a 7.2 grain bullet at 4000 fps, i never knew they made em that small.

The trouble you have with leaving bits of rabbit ,and guts all over the place is ,you encourage foxs,magpies,and crows into the area ,then, when they have finished the little treats you have left them,they start eating the little chicks on that patch of land. ever wonderd why you are called micky nomates? tell me then micky nomates what happens to all the foxes that are shot/dug to or snared? a lad who flies his harris hawk with us feed foxes to his bird when its in moult, on the last note ian b has posted twice on this thread giving his opinion, thats not enough? atb bullet p.s. ian i
  17. I have bought lots of stuff from the USA, never had any problems,or had to pay any taxs,allways had very good service ,and high quallity goods, its a pity we cannot get the same in this country.
