in summer time baz when you fly fish you try and immate or copy what flies are about on the water i.e. daddy long legs or midges so if theres midges about use avery little black fly or somtimes in certain areas and times of year you get alot of moths about ...so you use a fly what looks like moth muddlers they are called ...but at this time of year there isnt any flies about so you use lures brightly coulored flies theres loads of different names of lures ...also if you dont no what a fly is called when you see one on the water just catch one and look in your fly box and try and get one si
the best food to put weight on your dog is chicken its as simple as that worm it and then feed it chicken tuna pilchards chicken and fish and wholegrain bread...jmo...it works for me ...
well frank i thought you would of got some help on this one ...its an interesting thread maybe they didnt do so well over here after all ... the brown hare is quite an animal .... .
there was a bloke called jim young who ran a few aswell frank dont no much about him either oldish chap ran in the ledgends ...hope someone can help you frank .. interesting thread.... think jim young was from southern ireland....
always wondered that myself frank there was a bloke who ran in one of the forley cup ledgends stevey king i think he was called dont no how he did tho i was led to belive he had some very decent dogs ,..there will be sombody on here who knows better ...has the irish ever won a forley cup ........
another thing that makes me think is i can only think of a hand full of dogs that have made top class ..but i can think of three times the amount of bitches the have made the grade .....is this because people go more for bitches i.e.so more make the grade so to speak ...is it a money thing because if it does make top class they can breed of it or keep the same line .????maybe iam wrong but i reckon people can name more bitches the dogs what do you think..?????
i wouldnt say that they are better then hares but would be inclined to think that they will pull up because they know its going to be a hard course amd maybe they think the next one will be easier but like you say beingh the cleverest dog isnt always a good thing.. perhaps a bit smaller brain and a bigger heart is the better animal .....even tho it might make its job harder than what it should be it never jacks ....
it makes you wonder why they jack is it because they are started to young and lose that keeness ..running them with injuries ...doing to much with them i.e. three and fiour times aweek ..or do the clever dogs get to clever....it maskes you wonder it could be any of those i suppose .....iam not thinking about that breeding anywat baz she just impressed me a lot ....
i have to agree with you there baz i could watch a dog like her all day ...i suppose its one of them things baz its a fecking shame ....i wonder if she was ever lined....
i cant belive she jacked baz she only ran as fast as the hare did ...to me baz of what ive seen of her she was exellent she was very clever who owned her baz .???imo baz she was one of the best dogs ive seen run...how old will she be now or is she gone .???
seen as we are on about courseing dogs i watched a dvd with abitch called tina on it dont no which dvd she was on as i have got a few but imo she was one of the most intelligent dogs ive seen run she looked avery clever bitch iam not sure but i think she was out of lucky maybe iam wrong but in my eyes she was very classy i dont no how she did in comps and stuff but she was very good to watch ..does any of you courseing men no anything about her is she still about ???????
people are on about funny threads this had me laughting my head of wilky who wrote this is afecking star and oneredtim is another ,,,,,for those who havent read and for thoses who have its worth reading again....
saluki crosses can be fairly pricey frank but you get what you pay for i suppose ...but at the end of the day you have to set your self a budget not every body can afford them ...at the end of the day they can be best to best breeding and even if you give that dog everthing it dosent meen your going to get aworld beater but it gives you that slight edge if it has come from good stock ..i.e. the potencial is there ..but the deerhound x what you mentioned sounds like it will be good for the sort of terrian hes running on ..but personally would prefer a bit of saluki in it no matter what sor
come on england you can beat these leek sucking welsh come on eeeeeeeeeeennnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggllllllllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnn
nnnnnddddddddddddddd
if hes after a dog for smallish field and this is jmo i would go for saluki xgrey /salukixgreyxgrey xwhippet..it will need to be a dog that is up and at them and dosent sit behind a hare and try to wear it down such as your 3/4 saluki type ..now you do get the saluki based type that will do the job quick ..if you know what i mean but on the smallish type fields that can have some rough terrain your dog has got to be able to take aknock or two and is still has to have a fair amoumt of stamina so that x that i mentioned above would be my choice ...as you know frank the dog i have now has ki
